Cost Control Expert

Seeking a skilled Project Cost Control Expert to join our team. Take charge of cost monitoring, analysis, and reporting for our projects, ensuring optimal financial management and delivering projects within budget.

The jobholder is responsible for cost control. He/she guarantees the control of the total investment project in the field of budget assessments. This person assesses the cost effectiveness of the estimates and project execution. To review actual spend versus budget provision, by monitoring and recording agreed Changes and forecasting the impact of Changes to be agreed.

Main Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Project Cost Control manager
• Follow up the total investment cost, base line and control budgets, secures the correct use of contingency
• Assures monthly correct cost reporting and forecasting, provide input to the monthly reports, cost meeting and others. Provides the EPCm contractor monthly with commitments and actuals cost as registered in SAP
• Review and comment the key quantities and contractual quantity updates issued by EPCm contractor, assess the impact on the project cost forecast
• Regular updating of capex spent prognoses
• Ensures that lessons are learnt when project non-conformities occur (contractual, procedural, etc)
• Contributes actively to the review meetings according to the plant procedure and steers the engineering partner to execute the agreed actions
• Takes immediate action for each problem or attitude which is not in line with the HSE policy, this to avoid damage to people, fixed assets and environment and reports this in the existing data system

Job requirements:

• Engineer with preference to electro-mechanics or chemistry with minimum experience of 5 years or equivalent by relevant project practical experience
• General knowledge of Project Management and Project Engineering in all its aspects
• Knowledge of Scheduling systems, like Primavera, MS Project, …
• Fluent in Dutch/English
• Thorough experience with standard software packages like MS-Office, SAP, …
• Technical experience, preferably in a maintenance or Project environment working with Contactors
• Comprehensive Construction and investment project Experience
