Mission and Context

Etex Group with headquarters in Brussels is a leading industrial group, specialized in production and marketing of high-quality building materials and solutions. As international top player, Etex is active in 42 countries in which they can count on the loyalty of more than 13.000 employees.

We are looking for a Data & Analytics Product Owner to support Etex in the journey towards a data driven company.

Reporting line

Reporting to the head of the Enterprise Capability Center, which is part of the global process organisation team.

Roles and responsibilities

You are responsible to:
  • Define the data vision and strategy aligned with the wider Etex business vision & strategy
  • Own the data transformation journey and deliver value for Etex through data & analytics
  • Prepare business cases and manage the product backlog, for analytics initiatives on our Azure hosted modern data platform
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (process owners, IT, and business stakeholders), in particular with theIT Advanced Analytics Product Manager who will be responsible for the technical delivery
  • Responsible for communication, training, and user adoption of the data platform
  • Facilitate functional requirement specifications using agile methodologies (epics, features, user stories)

Leadership and skills

You are able to:
  • Communicate in a clear and concise manner to a variety of stakeholders
  • Bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution
  • Work in agile teams (experience working in DevOps environment is a plus)
  • Drive change, create awareness and set-up data literacy training programs with patience, commitment, and persistence
  • Innovate and take risks using technology whilst building a culture of data privacy and security

Technical and functional knowledge

You have:
  • Very good process and data analytics skills
  • Strong experience in delivering products on cloud-based technology, preferably in Azure data services (e.g. Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of reporting and dashboarding tool such as PowerBI
  • Knowledge of SAP and Salesforce is a plus
  • Experience with data governance

Language skills

English: C1 level or higher
Another EU language: B2 or higher

Required education and experience

At least 5 to 10 years of experience in data and analytics with experience in a major data transformation journey.
Have a master’s degree in a STEM subject or relevant experience.

Geographic Context and Travel Requirements

Etex is an international group.
The role will be part of Etex headquarters in Belgium and closely collaborate with IT is required.
Ideally the candidate is located in Belgium or close to Belgium (Luxembourg, France, the Netherlands, Germany) with 25% to 50% presence in Belgium and up to 10% travel.
