We are looking for a Design Manager to join our team dedicated to a very large construction project in Belgium (Mons area). In this role, you will act as client representative on a large and complex construction program where we are providing the full suite of professional services including technical project management, cost- & planning management and construction management.

Role description:

• Coordinate, clarify, and track design packages
• Manage and coordinate design efforts for bundle domestic and international projects.
• Manage escalation of design issues to resolution.
• Support contract negotiation with third-party contractors, typically in concert with project manager (“PM”) and legal counsel.
• Coordinate and produce the following Deliverables for each design/construction project:
• You will ensure the project plan includes the following:
• Internal kickoff deck
• Baseline scope
• Baseline design schedule
• Baseline budget
• Risk log
• Team roster
• Project folders
• Meeting and communication plan
• A change management plan
• Lessons learned from previous building desigN
• Manage and update the following through design completion:
• Design schedule
• Design budget
• Design risk log
• Ensure the following design trackers and updates are delivered at each design deliverable milestone.
• Provide updates to the site change control log with design information
• Provide updates to the site risk log with design information
• Complete the following reports and ensure delivery of documents: monthly design report and publish weekly design meeting minutes
• Provide and gather cost estimates working with stakeholders and third-party contractors for scope gaps and changes.
• Oversee invoice/payment application processing, tracking, and reporting.
• Negotiate, resolve, and close any outstanding change orders, quality issues, or disputes.
• Support program travel to team meetings and general management support.
  
  

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
• Advanced project management, client relationship management and commercial.
• A design coordination background and a knowledge of risk and change management techniques will be beneficial.
• You must demonstrate previous Design Coordination Manager experience, ideally while working for a Consultancy or Contractor on Data Centres or other large scale complex led projects.
