Joining as one of the founding members of our new Technical Ecosystem Management team in our IoT & Analytics business unit which is responsible for the success of our product lines Cumulocity IoT and TrendMiner.

Cumulocity IoT is a modular IoT platform supporting various industrial IoT use-cases; TrendMiner is all about democratising analytics in Manufacturing Operations by robustly packaging data science and ai/ml tooling for use by domain experts.

A product is only as strong as the ecosystem around it. At Software AG we believe in open systems that individual developers, customers, and partner companies can easily expand. Strengthening the technical ecosystem around our product offering is a key focus of Software AG to further grow in the rapidly developing industrial IoT and analytics markets. Therefore, this dedicated team was formed to support developers, partners, and customers to integrate their offerings with our products and to build up new strategic technical partnerships.

The Technical Ecosystem Team is managing and developing these partnerships on a global level with multiple focus areas:

  • Hardware partners developing IoT devices and want to utilize Cumulocity IoT for device management and data analytics
  • Software solution providers that further process IoT data to build specific Apps on top of our products
  • Automation and Historian vendors that integrate into TrendMiner
  • System Integrators that help our customers to tailor our products to their needs
  • Value Added Resellers that combine our offerings with additional features or services

As a member of this team, you will collaborate closely across teams in our IoT & Analytics Business Unit (e.g. product development, product management, presales, business development, sales, and customer success) as well as represent Software AG towards our strategic partners on a global level.

The Challenge You Take on

As our Ecosystem Manager, you are shaping the TrendMiner partner ecosystem. This includes fostering the relationship with the existing ecosystem partners and identifying new partner opportunities to grow the ecosystem both from a data connectivity point-of-view as well as from a solution-oriented point of view.

Key ecosystem dimensions include:

  • Strategic Data Source Partners: TrendMiner has established strong partnerships with key data source providers (e.g. automations systems and historians) and maintains the integration to these products to feed data to TrendMiner from a “Southbound” side.
  • Third Party Connectivity Partners: Additional “southbound” data source integrations are developed by third parties to further extend the reach of our product.
  • Analytics Solution Partners: Data from TrendMiner is used and further processed in other solutions to integrate with our product from the “northbound” side

To nurture and promote growth in all three areas, the tasks and challenges at hand include the following:

  • You identify external partners, explore joint value-propositions and work through PoC / validation stages towards scaling the GTM of a productized connectivity offering
  • You expand the connectivity options of TrendMiner, considering the voice of the customer/prospect and stakeholders in customer success and sales to discover potential areas of ecosystem growth which can accelerate adoption of TrendMiner with existing customers and/or growth of TrendMiner in new verticals based on extended connectivity
  • You will act as the Product Manager for a dedicated team within the TrendMiner R&D organization, in which you coordinate implementation and/or validation projects with TrendMiner R&D based on client-centric experimentation.
  • You will collaborate with the Technical Partner Managers responsible for Cumulocity IoT based partnerships to identify and exploit synergies between the partner ecosystems
  • You collaborate with the TrendMiner Global Partner Manager who is responsible for the resell and co-sell activities of TrendMiner.
  • You collaborate with the corporate Technology Alliances & Channels office that coordinate joined revenue generation and real registration
  • Within the Business Unit you are the point of contact for questions w.r.t. technology alliances for TrendMiner (both for practical aspects such as licenses, and for strategic questions)

The Attributes You Bring to the Table

  • You have a university degree in Business IT (Wirtschaftsinformatik), (Industrial) Engineering (eg. Chemical, Biotechnology, Mathematical, etc.) or similar
  • Experience with product ecosystem management and product management
  • Sufficient level of understanding of technologies as enablers of new products and services
  • Experience with integration projects (connectivity of different protocols, data modeling and mapping, etc.)
  • Experience within the use of analytics, preferably in process industry
  • Business understanding, which enables you to combine long-term strategic planning and short-term tactical operations.
  • Entrepreneurial skills tuning business models are a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, partner focus and result oriented
  • Motivational and inspirational personality
  • Pro-active with hands-on attitude
