For the Engineering department at our headquarters in Brussels (near the train station and subway, see the map here) we’re looking for an Electricity & Instrumentation Designer (m/f/x).

The Engineering Department supports Fluxys’ activities by defining technical standards and producing study files on natural gas transport facilities but also other gases such as hydrogen, methanol, CO2, etc. The Engineering Department contributes to projects to build and/or modify facilities on the Fluxys Belgium grid while also being involved in projects carried out in the Group’s subsidiaries abroad. Engineering is also involved in innovative projects in connection with opportunities created by the energy transition.

Your
responsibilities

• You will carry out detailed E&I (electricity and instrumentation) studies for our natural gas transmission facilities and our future transmission facilities for other gases (hydrogen, CO2, etc.) on the basis of project data and the applicable technical standards and codes
• You will be responsible for developing E&I plans, such as electrical diagrams, instrumentation diagrams, cable calculations and cable lists, the IO list and instrument list, component lists, P&IDs, layout plans, block diagrams, zoning plans, etc.
• You will ensure that the AREI/RGIE standards are correctly applied to the studies carried out
• You will prepare the necessary zoning applications in accordance with ATEX regulations
• You will be involved in the entire project with a focus on the detailed study phase
• You will provide technical advice during the purchasing process and the implementation of the project
• You will oversee the ongoing standardisation of designs and materials and the processing of technical comments
• You may take part in studies on safety (processes), ergonomics, etc.
• You will help ensure the quality of asset data via As-Built records

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A bachelor’s degree in electricity, electronics, electromechanics, automation or regulation, or equivalent experience
• At least five years of experience in a similar position combined with a versatile and multidisciplinary knowledge of technical facilities
• A solid knowledge of low-voltage distribution circuits, instrumentation and automation circuits, pneumatic systems and PLCs (Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens)
• Strong social and communication skills and an ability to work both in a team and independently
• A results-oriented, rigorous and structured approach to your work
• Good resistance to stress and the ability to work on several projects at once
• A safety-oriented approach to your work
• An excellent command of French and a good knowledge of Dutch and English
• A solid knowledge of drawing software (Microstation and/or Autocad, See Electrical Expert and/or Eplan, etc.) andstructured databases such as SQL Server, Access, etc.

Additionally, this role requires:

• A category B driving licence and personal vehicle
