Location: Tubize, Belgium Thales people architect solutions at the heart of the defence-security continuum. Thales Belgium SA, Belgium competence center of Thales, is a company located on 2 sites, one in Tubize (near Brussels) and the other one in Herstal (near Liège). Thales Belgium, which employs more than 230 collaborators, is specialized in the design, development and supply of critical information systems for customers in the sectors of Defense, Security (including Cyber), Transport and Aerospace.

Engineering Tools and Applications Manager

Mission :

Ensure engineering tools are up to date and in perfect operational conditions with respect to running projects – being the transmission chain between tooling and engineering activities ensuring they can work efficiently

Main responsibilities :

  • Perform Integration of customer, technical and IVVQ specification processes.
  • Develop a strategy for managing the traceability of requirements (automated traceability)
  • Develop a strategy for managing test coverage
  • Develop a strategy for managing the impact assessments of changes (top down/ bottom up) on the SOW.
  • Feed the risk management process (impact of changes) in collaboration with project team.
  • Freeze engineering baselines
  • Instantiate requirements and testing repository for each project including the maintenance upgrade of its content.
  • Develop a strategy to ensure tools version migrations are adequately conducted (IE: defining a sandbox for tooling testing)
  • In terms of processes and tools, being able to go beyond the problem of managing the repository of a particular project in order to extend the solution in an integrated and reusable perspective.

Profile :

  • Recognized experience in requirement management and verification/validation activities
  • Recognized experience in the definition of traceability
  • Recognized experience in configuration management (SW/HW/documentation)
  • Keen with open source tooling
  • Good understanding of project management in an high end engineering environment
  • Good command in english
  • Strong communication skills
  • Result and partnership-oriented
  • In-depth Problem-Solving skills
