For one of our clients, a well-known strategic advisory firm with offices in 18 countries, we are looking for a Finance Manager to be located in Brussels.

As Finance Manager your role will be to prepare accurate and timely internal and external financial reporting, working with the junior accountant.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Accounting, financial, and budgetary management
- Management of invoicing
- Surveillance and management of legal obligations inherent to our client’s legal entity in Belgium
- Business analysis and reporting.
Our client’s Belgian office recently became a newly incorporated branch. The role will also involve ensuring correct set up of accounting and reporting for this new branch as well as leading on the creation of the new corporate entity.
You will work in close collaboration with the Head of the Brussels Office and the Operations Director. You will be part of the Operational Financial Controllers and Administrators team based in London, where the head office and CFO are located.
Based in the Brussels office, you will also directly collaborate with the in-house accountant and HR assistant.
You will also be responsible for :
Business analysis and insights
- Prepare business reports and analysis based on financial data for Partners and Director Operations
- Prepare weekly and monthly finance reports
- Forecast and control revenue and costs
Accounting/corporate law
- Contract management
- Overseeing company invoicing, follow-up of clients and suppliers
- Prepare and manage inter-company invoicing and reporting
- Preparation of quarterly accounting statements
- Responsible for the preparation of the annual accounts
- Overseeing preparation of annual audit
- Encode closing journal, payroll, VAT, accruals
- Capable to draft monthly VAT returns and withholding tax
- Supervise National Bank survey regarding foreign activities
Treasury and cash
- Monitor Treasury activities
- Follow up the cash situation and flows in existing projects
Social & Personnel management
- In collaboration with HR, reconcile payment of payroll
- In collaboration with HR, reconcile and payment of Securex invoices, social security taxes
- Supervise expatriate scheme with HR and external consultant
- Maintain relationships with local banks, authorities, customers and other specific partners
Your profile:

- You have a Master’s degree in Finance / Economics / Business management – Accounting – or other equivalent
- You have at least 3 years experience in the field of cost control, accounting or financial audit, and knowledge of Belgian statutory accounts
- You are familiar with accounting tools (knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics is an asset)
- You understand and cope with cultural differences and different working methodologies between countries and continents
- You are able to handle and solve problems independently, look for alternatives and implement solutions
- You are rigorous, you have good organisational skills and you are able to set priorities
- You are fluent in English & French. Any other language is an asset
- You have an enquiring mind – the selected candidate will be expected to have a proactive approach and to be solution oriented.
