Leads and oversees activities related to the establishment of finance policies and controls as well as general administration, and functional performance improvement across the entire function; also provides operations management with interpretive and predictive financial information to make business performance assessments and capital investment decisions through the use of sensitivity, pro forma and cause-and-effect analysis.Chevron Belgium BV is a wholly owned subsidiary of Chevron Corporationand is responsible for the sales and marketing of Texaco & Chevron Lubricants and Base Oils.
Chevron Belgium is accepting online applications for the position of Financial Analyst, located in Ghent, Belgium through March 18th, 20221, 5:00 PM (Central European Time).
Chevron Belgium Finance Department is embedded in the Global Marine and Europe Lubricants Finance & Business Support Group covering a variety of responsibilities including Accounting and Reporting, Taxation, Cash Management, External & Internal Audits, Business & Decisions Support.

Key Responsibilities Are
In the role of Financial Analyst, your responsibilities are the following:
- Accounting & Reporting:
- Perform general accounting such as intercompany, equity accounting, general ledger and month end close
- Partner with our offshore shared services center to ensure proper recording of transactions
- Provide accounting advice and information to support management decision making
- Prepare financial and management reports in compliance with both statutory and management requirements
- Ensure adequate controls are in place for both integrity of financial numbers and business processes including SOX controls
- Decision Support:
- Partner business units in preparing business plans and forecasts. Provide analyses and commentaries on business performance.
- Reviews and resolves problems regarding development and application of new or changes to business unit reporting, tax landscape, customer portfolio and order to cash processes
- Associated Business Analytics – with focus on opportunities to improve earnings and cash flow
- Drives digitization efforts through IT system deployments and adoption of new technology for analytics and efficiency
- Personal Qualities:
- Team player with drive for continuous improvement
- Independent organizer with excellent interpersonal skills
- Meticulous, highly reliable, and motivated team player with good follow through and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure in meeting tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with different stakeholders, also remotely
- Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
- 5 years of experience in a similar capacity or external audit environment
- Strong accounting knowledge and analytical skills
- Experience using tools such as MS Power BI and Power Apps to solve business problems
- SAP experience
- Fluent Dutch & English
