A multinational company operating in the automotive sector in Zaventem is currently looking for a Financial Controller to support its finance department and other non-financial departments. The company is focused on growth and offers a professional environment focused on innovation and development.

You will join their offices in Zaventem and act as a business partner in monthly matters. You will report to the Financial Control Teamlead.

Your main responsibilities as a Financial Controller will include:

  • Conduct month-end closing procedures for the entities and ensure timely reporting to headquarters in accordance with US GAAP
  • Oversee financial administration for two entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts, providing explanations for any discrepancies
  • Assist other finance departments with monthly inquiries, ensuring adherence to GAAP standards
  • Prepare standalone financial statements for two entities following Belgium GAAP regulations
  • Train various departments, including offshore teams, on GAAP compliance
  • Support internal and external audits as well as compliance with SOX regulations
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for specific topics in group reporting
  • Act as the primary contact for inquiries from the regional reporting team and US/EU accounting policy team regarding local entities
  • Lead efforts to enhance and standardize processes across Belgian entities and other group entities

About you :

  • You have a master’s degree in finance (business administration, business economics or accounting)
  • You have between 4 and 5 years’ relevant experience in a finance department or audit firm
  • You have a good understanding of BEGAAP. Knowledge of US GAAP is an asset
  • You have excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • You have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • You can communicate effectively (written and verbal) in English and Dutch. Knowledge of French is an plus
  • You are an excellent communicator and are able to build strong relationships within a complex international organisation
