Purpose of the Job:

Develop, validate, implement and improve processes and equipment for technological innovations within the area of Front End Innovation & Material Science.

Objectives:

Contribute to AB InBev’s top-line and/or bottom-line growth by successful implementation of front end projects related to the development and industrialization of new Material Innovations.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the Front End development and preparation for industrialization of packaging components with regards to engineering, validation, implementation and improvement of:
  • New materials and material converting techniques
  • Filling and packaging equipment
  • Moulds
  • Lead commissioning and qualification of prototypes, tooling and production lines for components
  • Assess CAPEX required for new development initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership and control quality of work delivered by development partners, in order to come to commercially desirable, technically feasible, and cost effective solutions (Desirability, Viability, Feasibility principle)
  • Integrate technical expertise across assigned projects to implement new materials/ processes/equipment in breweries and at suppliers
  • Capture and transfer knowledge by means of documentation, training, etc. on materials, processes, trouble-shooting, etc. to the relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure project progress including planning, milestones follow-up, and reporting through all stages of a development project:
  • Ideation and concept development
  • Prototyping and proof of principle
  • Engineering
  • Tooling and production set up
  • Validation and quality control
  • Roll out and technical support

Requirements:

  • Master’s or PhDs degree in relevant applied science or engineering area
  • Fluency in English (written /spoken)
  • In-depth technical understanding of underlying technical disciplines inside the area of packaging development with a strong focus on material science
  • Results oriented with a focus on quality and timing
  • Commitment to continuous learning
  • Demonstrated cultural awareness and ability to bridge cultural differences
  • Ability to deal with changing environments and requirements in a professional and consistent manner
  • Frequent travel as required for the successful realization of the assigned projects (~ 30%)
