JOB PURPOSE
To strenghten our HR team in Europe we are looking for a passionate and result-oriented HR Manager with excellent relationship building skills, experienced in Talent Acquisition & Talent Development. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong experience within the Healthcare domain to support our leading market position and drive further growth across the European region.
Reporting to the HR Director, Europe & RIT, you will work closely together with 2 HR Advisors in Belgium, the Global HR Team and will act as coach and HR subject matter expert for our team leaders in the region.
The HR Manager ensures the provision of high quality HR services for the Avanos European HQ and sales organization, supporting the organization to deliver its business objectives through the roll-out and on-going execution of HR services and local, regional and global HR initiatives and projects.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
HR Generalist
- Advises (international) managers regarding the implementation and execution of HR policies and complex HR matters in Belgium.
- Partners with other HR Advisors to develop policies, programs and tools to contribute to the continuous improvement of the HR processes and related services in Belgium.
- Follows trends and best practices within (and outside) Belgium and look for opportunities for further optimalization of HR processes and services.
- Manages and executes HR projects in line with predetermined goals and timeline.
- Ensures all policies, procedures, and employee documentation are in compliance with national and European regulations
- Supports the European organization to ensure an adequate and effective quality management system, supports the quality policy and sustains a quality culture.
Talent Attraction, Employer Branding, Recruitment and Onboarding
- Develops sustainable talent acquisition and hiring plans and strategies for the region
- Ensures attraction of the right employees to meet the workforce needs
- Provides monthly metrics on the staffing activities to track progress and identifies opportunities for improvement and cost savings
- Leads recruitment activities for the region to ensure effective and efficient staffing including posts on job boards, such a sLinkedIn, etc.
- Designs, plans and executes selection processes (conducts interviews and screening calls, review employment application and background check reports, etc.)
- Finds bottlenecks in the recruiting process
- Suggest measures for improving employee retention as needed
- Designs, plans and executes employer branding activities at local level
- Reinforces the Avanos Europe employer branding at local level by encouraging employees to be brand ambassadors
- Ensures and supports proper induction of new employees, including regular follow up along the first year.
Talent Development
- Accountable for end-to-end training and talent management initiatives for the core employees up to (senior) management level across Europe within the foreset budgets.
- The aspect of training will cover inductions, commercial training, soft skills, technical skills and a strong focus on management development. The aspect of talent management incorporates coaching programs and dedicated talent initiatives.
- Incorporates and deploys initiatives supporting our values, culture and strategic objectives.
- Works closely together with European business leaders and management, Marketing and Global Learning & Development functions to identify and solve learning & development and talent management needs and trends.
- Constructs and deploys a compelling short and longer-term learning & development strategy, action-plan, budgets, policies and programs in line with the European strategy.
- Deploys an effective learning infrastructure (including budget management, learning content coordination and management of training data).
- Assessing training priorities and gaps, and taking a leadership role in the development and deployment of learning strategies and internal training curriculum to meet those requirements
- Implement the training programs required to support development and retention of staff, utilizing the 70-20-10 developmental approach
- Incorporates and drives our Avanos values and culture.
- Regularly negotiate contracts with vendors to ensure cost optimization
PROFILE
- 8 to 10 years minimum experience in similar roles within multinational companies, in a matrix organization
- University Degree (or equivalent in years of experience) in HR/Organization or General management or Law or Psychology
- Experience in an international environment in the medical devices industry is a plus
- Exposure to and experience in leading HR practices in the responsibility areas mentioned above
- Reliable and integer person with very good communication skills – both written and spoken
- Customer oriented approach; efficient service level
- Able to perform under pressure and with demanding deadlines
- Work ethics according our values and culture
- Languages: Flemish / French, English fluent
- Able to work in a matrix organization
- Excellent time management & organisational skills; ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical capability and problem-solving skills.
- High level of autonomy & self-drive, you pay attention to details, you meet the set deadlines and deliver correct and complete information.
- Hands-on mentality and a desire to work in a mid-size medical company with an entrepreneurial culture.
- Excellent skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook are required.
- You are independent and are also a team player.
