A career within the Financial Services department of PwC Belgium, will provide you the opportunity to work with a team that provides clients with extensive technical knowledge and insurance sector specific experience. You’ll have the opportunity to develop a holistic approach to risk that protects businesses, facilitates strategic decision making and enhances efficiency by assisting management in the assessment of project risks and controls.

Our team helps to provide assurance towards our clients at every stage of the implementation of IFRS 17 Insurance Contracts and IFRS 9 Financial Instruments.

What you’ll learn and do

At PwC we are providing advice and assurance services to the Insurance market for accounting, technology and transformation matters with regards to IFRS 17, IFRS 9 and Solvency II projects. Within this team, you will be a professional, with strong technical accounting knowledge, comfortable with both financial and regulatory reporting guidelines.

You will be responsible to review, analyse, and document key accounting, operating model, technology decisions related to the adoption of IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 across our insurance clients.

You will be involved in different work streams and operate across the organizations/work streams in adopting IFRS 17 and 9. Participate in assessing, developing, and implementing accounting policies and procedures and financial controls across the Company specifically in relation to IFRS 17 and 9.

Who you are

• You have a Master’s in (applied) economics, business engineering, civil engineering, actuarial sciences or another relevant economic major, possibly via a second Master’s or PhD.

• You have a minimum of 5 years of experience with insurance in domains like financial and regulatory reporting and related accounting.

• You are a born team player and take initiative. You have a critical, analytical mind, are client-oriented and an especially good communicator. You’re keen to keep on learning and developing, with a view to continued growth.

• You are fluent in Dutch and/or French, as well as English.

• You don’t walk away from challenges, seeing them more as opportunities.
