Goodix Multimedia Solutions (MMS) is developing innovative hardware and software products that directly improve the user experience in mobile phones, tablets, mobile accessories, computing devices, and in the car environment. Our team in Belgium, is working with Tier 1 product vendors like Samsung, Huawei, OPPO, Xiaomi, LG, Vivo, … to launch the next revolution in human-machine interfacing. Next to Belgium we have development teams in The Netherlands, France, India, Korea, and China.

For the MMS R&D department of Goodix, based in Leuven, we are looking for a junior R&D Process Expertto soon become a hands-on expert developing, maintaining, and improving the SW development environment for our algorithm designers and embedded software engineers.

You will be trained to become responsible and accountable for the deployment and automation of the embedded software development environments with our engineering community. You will gradually extend the scope of your work to oversee the development processes of all the product teams.

You will:

• Learn a lot of practical skills in a DevOp-like role, in a research environment
• Embrace agile principles like continuous development, continuous testing, and continuous integration
• Set-up automated builds (Make, CMake, SVN, GIT) and tests on our servers (Jenkins, Bamboo) and keep these up and running
• Write and maintain custom scripts to increase efficiency of our in-house Software Build and Test stack (based on Python, Matlab, Perl) to lower the human intervention time through task automation
• Create reproducible and stable development environments, for both SW and embedded HW products
• Work to enhance developer workflows to ensure higher functional system test coverage, e.g. by automating hardware-in-the-loop testing
• Develop our internal CI infrastructure to scale with our teams and our products

You have:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science or computer/electrical engineering or equivalent
• Hands-on mentality and proven scripting and programming experience: at least 1 year in a similar role (can be through internships or personal projects)
• Basic expertise in Continuous Integration & pipeline development. Preferably already worked with Jenkins or Bamboo
• Good understanding of version control systems (GIT and SVN)
• Passion for designing and implementing automation projects
• Interest in learning new scripting languages. Knowledge of Python, Matlab or similar languages is an asset
• Flexibility to work with Linux and Windows environments
• Talent for problem-solving and critical thinking. You are goal driven and open-minded
• Ability to self-manage, work and learn autonomously, and communicate effectively
• An interest to learn and gain experience with:
• Latest technologies; you will be a part of R&D organization and it is important that you understand what we want to achieve and why
• Virtualization and containerization (e.g. VMware, Virtual Box, Docker, WSL)
• Atlassian tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, and Confluence
• Cloud technologies such as AWS, cloud computing for machine learning
• Knowledge of embedded systems, RTOS, cross-compiling and hardware in the loop testing, C/C++ development
