Our client is a growing market leader in the "salad spread" category. With an annual turnover of more than 100 million euros, the company employs more than 250 people at its Turnhout site. Thanks to a solid growth strategy, many acquisitions and new concept developments, the international group has quadrupled its turnover in the last 10 years and has the same ambition to grow in the coming years.
The product range is constantly expanding, from salad spreads and delectable tapas to meal solutions and from fresh to frozen.

About the mission

As Key Account Manager Foodservice, you will have a lot of responsibilities and a very diversified customer portfolio, ranging from wholesalers to horeca customers, in Flanders. The range of products you can offer is very wide and innovative based on quality and taste.
You report to the Sales Manager Foodservice.
Your key responsibilities include:
  • You will maintain and develop long-term relationships with your customers.
  • You will stimulate growth in turnover and volumes.
  • You will develop and implement account plans in line with the company’s action plans and strategy.
  • You are responsible for the development and management of forecasts and budget.
  • You will monitor market, sales and margin trends and take the necessary initiatives to ensure that sales, volume and margin targets are met.
  • You develop joint actions, marketing activities and promotion plans with your clients.
  • You participate in the organization of local and international trade fairs and exhibitions, as well as at your wholesalers.
  • You introduce new products and concepts to existing and possibly new customers.
  • You have a very strong interaction with the field sales team in your region.
  • As an absolute category leader, you perform active category management with each of your customers.

About the ideal candidate

  • A Master degree
  • A strong track record in sales and account management, preferably in FMCG.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills ensuring excellent contact with diverse customer groups.
  • Strong ability to create long-term partnership with key customers.
  • Farming and Hunting mentality with entrepreneurial mindset.
  • In-depth market knowledge enabling you to act as a consultant and anticipate relevant market developments.
  • Strong affinity with (fresh) food, preferably in the butchery, restaurant and/or foodservice sector.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and force of persuasion.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to find creative solutions to sales related problems.
  • Team player and positive attitude.
  • A hands-on attitude with project management skills and respect for deadline.
  • Fluent in Dutch with a good knowledge of French.
