• Managing and resolving legal issues in relation to real estate development (mainly relating to real estate acquisition and disposal - rent/lease – sale – contracting – architectural services);
• Identifying risks related to projects and structures and suggesting and applying legally accepted and attractive solutions to make given transactions feasible from a functional and legal perspective;
• Negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts with customers and third parties;
• Providing fellow legal counsels with on time, pro-active and accurate support within your field(s) of expertise;
• Working in close collaboration with the wider European and Global legal and risk team and with the business and technical development managers in the different countries;
• Practice “preventive law” by training and educating employees on general legal and development matters;
• Involving and liaise with external law firms in an effective way and at fair cost when necessary;
• Ensuring the coordination of legal disputes and/or litigation.
  

As a member of the Risk Strategy Team you will be working in close collaboration with the wider European legal, compliance and risk team and with the business and technical development managers, the property and asset managers and the capital transactions team in the different countries.

Skills, Knowledge And Experience

• University degree in law; additional degree or LLM is a clear asset;
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience (attorney at law and/or legal manager with experience in cross border commercial transactions) and minimum 5 years of experience in the different aspects of corporate and real estate law: real estate development, lease agreements – M&A including real estate transactions – contracting;
• Experience in international projects required;
• Having a strong experience in contract drafting and negotiation;
• Excellent command both orally and written of English and Dutch. Knowledge of French is a plus;
• Being highly professional with high integrity and interpersonal skills, excellent in analysing legal issues and in providing pragmatic tailor made solutions, high interest in fast changing market evolution, being flexible and committed to bottom line result, outgoing and pro-active, being a quick thinker and stress resistant, being a team player and computer literate;
• Able to travel (short periods of maximum two days) on short notice and to work on multiple projects under tight time pressures in a fast-changing environment;
• Able to operate without significant supervision, and independently handle most complex matters;
• Keen to learn everything about Goodman and its business.
