This position is responsible for managing logistics data, assets, processes and provider performance within the assigned scope. The aim is to provide safe and efficient storage and movement of products in a way that meets the needs of the business and maximizes the financial benefit to the business and parent company. This position provides regional logistics guidance for people in the supply chain, business, and at plant sites who are working in the logistics competency. The person hired will report to the Global Logistics Manager.

Responsibilities Description

Your key responsibilities will be

• Process owner for logistics operations across all modes of transportation (truck, ocean, rail) within the Safety business.
• Serve as the liaison between Safety supply chain operations Corporate Logistics Team, providing information and necessary approvals for both groups for transport activities from the plant sites through delivery to customers.
• This position is responsible for developing and maintaining documentation of business requirements for logistics services to enable competitive selection and to manage performance of logistics providers. Scope may include global business requirements for raw materials, intermediates and finished product in terms of safety, service and cost.
• Relay logistics information that may impact supply chain operations and decisions.
• Lead monthly global logistics connection with representatives from each region to discuss complaint management and to tracking improvement initiatives in export processes.
• Closely manage carrier performance to improve delivery to internal core assets / warehouse and to customers.
• Track and forecast finished product distribution expense by mode and on time delivery information to report on a monthly basis through the IBP process.
• Generate cost savings initiatives to lower finished product distribution expense.
• Engage logistics service providers in developing potential cost-saving initiatives, and include input from logistics suppliers.
• Track global on time delivery metrics and identify key trends or action items to improve performance.
• Raise significant service issues with suppliers to the appropriate buyer of record so they can develop improvement plans with suppliers.
• Ensure Safety logistics processes are aligned with DuPont Logistics policies and procedures, and compliant with both global and regional regulations.
• Provide forecasting and other business planning data to the Corporate Logistics Team. Lead the annual ocean bid process within the Safety business.
• Lead the logistics planning processes within the Safety business to include modal capacity and modal shipment planning.
• This position is responsible for transportation equipment fleet including ISO tanks, railcars, tank-trailers.
• Ensure appropriate resources and problem-solving actions are taken in significant event situations impacting business results such as loss of capacity, shipping delays, or poor carrier performance.
  

Job Qualifications

A successful candidate must have

Successful Candidates Will Have

• BS/BA in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or relevant field preferred.
• 3-5 Years Supply Chain experience required.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
• Proven success in a multi-faceted, fast paced job shop environment (low volume/high mix).
• Previous working experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to develop reports and analyze data to initiate problem solving. Must be analytical and data driven in decision making process with strong understanding of excel and data manipulation.
• Excellent interpersonal, writing, speaking, coordinating and organizational skills.
  

Skills Desirable But Not Mandatory Are

• Global supply chain (working cross-cultures).
• Previous Leadership experience.
• Continuous improvement methodology such as Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, or Agile certification required; Six Sigma Black Belt, and/or Champion.
• ASCM Certification, such as CLTD or CPIM, strongly preferred (or on the job within 24 months).
• SAP/APO/OMP competency.
