For a heavily growing stock exchanged multinational company with European headquarters located in Belgium, we are looking for an M&A specialist.

Given the crucial and central role of the company for sales, development & production within the EMEA zone, you will play a dominant role in the Post-Merger integration process following the buy -and build strategy the company envisages.

What is expected from you?

As a Member Of Our Team You Will Work Closely Together With The European HQ’s Strategic Department And The F&A Integration Manager On Multiple M&A Projects Pre And Post Deal Engagement Helping The Company To Cope With The Challenges They Are Facing

We are looking for an experienced professional to join the company’s growing F&A integration team.

• Drive and deliver internal projects within the M&A lifecycle varying from being involved in the M&A strategy, leading the Financial, TAX and IT due diligence process to the post-merger integration phase.
• Ensure delivery of engagements by directing activities of the project team and coaching /follow-up of project team members and due diligence partners. In addition you will be the primary contact towards our external Due Diligence partners.
• Develop high-performing people and teams through challenging and meaningful opportunities.
• Support business development and create opportunities for a smooth Integration Process.
• Drive and support internal initiatives to further develop and innovate the offerings within the M&A lifecycle.
• After acquisition: play a dominant role in setting the definition and sharing of group accounting standards & policies, monitor compliance, consult and work out complex accounting matters within the group (for example: lead IFRS and Group Accounting manual conversions).
• Promoting a "continuous improvement" culture to increase efficiency and quality of accounting operations of newly acquired companies. We expect you to supervise the strict workflow in function of the company’s deadlines and evaluate the existing systems and procedures in order to optimize the day to day operations.
• From a headquarter perspective you will be involved in a large variety of accounting related projects such as changes in the group structure, impairment exercises across the Group, a continuous focus to improve current accounting operations, etc. This requires intensive interaction with other headquarter departments and our affiliates within the EMEA area.
  

Who do we need to excel?

• You have a Master in Economics or similar by experience;
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within a diverse Finance and Accounting environment (for example but not limited to a Big Four environment) , experience in the field of M&A projects is an absolute added value;
• Good knowledge of General IFRS accounting principles and complex accounting matters;
• Experience in domains as project management, acquisition accounting and SAP will be an enormous asset.
• You are easily accessible and you can create a positive climate in which people take initiative and excel in their performance;
• You have excellent organisational skills, you can plan as well on short as on long term, you are able delegate all key stakeholders involved in the project without losing control, you monitor progress in order to reach the targeted result;
• You are hands-on, stress resistant, maintain control and overview in all circumstances and you are focussed on full compliance and securing operations;
• A willingness to travel and visit the Group’s affiliates for a certain duration is a must;
• Fluent in English, Dutch and French. Additional languages are a plus.
