Mobile Architect (iOS / Android) @ Napoleon Games

1. Purpose of the position

The Mobile Architect has an enormous impact on the organization and must bring ‘Mobile’ knowledge and vision into Napoleon Games Group. Technology is product and product is technology. The Mobile Architect is responsible for guiding the brand new development teams in the right design and technology choices for the mobile apps, while keeping a bird eye view on the entire company and group technology stack, bringing the organization to a more efficient and mature level.

2. Reporting

The Mobile Architect reports directly to the Head of Architecture.

3. Tasks and responsibilities

• You establish and validate the short and the long term Mobile technology vision, the strategy, architecture of the Napoleon Games Group platform. You bring technological expertise and leadership and you work closely together with TechOps, Development, the CI/CD team, the Product Organization, Thea Head of architecture and peers of Superbet (e.g Superology). For building some important apps like the sports app of Napoleon Sports & Casino, you will have particularly high autonomy.
• You assess and validate technology solutions to make recommendations for mobile architecture and how work should best get done (including make or buy decisions). You determine how the team will use mobile technology to improve products and services. You will need to learn and understand the tech transactional side to online gambling, regulatory guidelines (procedures Belgian Gaming Commission on player protection, RFP,..).
• You select solutions/softwareto meet use cases /user stories.
• You drive and/or support solution/vendor selection processes and choices against criteria (requirements, costs. Time, strategic fit etc) - you work closely together with the product department.
• You deliver and/or oversee High-Level Designs for Mobile capabilities as outlined opposite.
• You lead/co-ordinate design for use cases that span domains and/or applications (coaching role towards development teams - aligning and integrating tech teams via “architecture as code”).
• You oversee detailed design/buildin relation to the above areas.
• You deliver target and transition architectures.
• You manage key design decisions and key architectural/design issues.
• You utilise/managestandards, tools, best practice, and development methodologies.

4. Reason for the job opening

The Mobile Architect is a new position in the organization. Napoleon games will invest significantly in building out mobile teams in 2022 and will build two major mobile apps for the group. There is a need for mobile expertise and leadership to shape new product development.

5. Expectations first 3-6-12 months

• In the first 3 months, you are expected to provide sufficient handles and coaching for the teams, start development and deliver first deliverables.
• After 6 months you will have a good understanding of the sector and platform. You will be able to create the link and bridge to Superbet’s Battler platform.
• After the first year you will have proven significant contribution in Mobile Architecture of Napoleon Sports & Casino.

1. Experience and requirements

• Experience in Mobile Architecture, including the following processes/technologies.
• Surfacing ‘back-end’ business functions and uses cases via mobile applications including marketing (campaigns, offers, personalisation, recommendation), sales (search, availability, book, amend) and Service (case and customer service management).
• Experience in iOS and Android native app development and frameworks/methods.
• Experience in mobile and app process and technology alignment methods including web views ad Progressive Web Apps for example.
• Experience in customer/user identity and access management techniques.
• Experience of API, Microservice and Event based integration architecture approaches.
• Demonstrated experience with determining end state and transition architectures, and determining roll-out strategies.
• Experience in solution/software evaluation and selection.
• Manage production/approval process for Blueprint/HLD’s for domain specific and cross-domain designs.
• Overseeing the development of solutions by build/delivery teams to standard.
• Take part in Programme Architecture Governance (Design Authorities); both submitting solution designs, and overseeing the other architects designs.
• Contribute to the development of standards, tools, best practice, and development methodologies to enhance planning and delivery.
• Providing proactive oversight and advice to architects and other fostering re-use, design for scale, stability, and operational efficiency of marketing solutions.
