• Manage the sustainability-related project portfolio and project teams in line with project management best practices.
• Support the implementation of sustainability-related projects in all stages of the policy cycle, thus helping governments and institutions define their business strategies and translate their vision into concrete initiatives.
• Act as a single point of contact for sustainability topics with a focus on energy transition, climate action and environment.
• Forge and manage relationships with key clients, partners, as well as internal and external stakeholders in the area of sustainability.
• Perform qualitative and quantitative research, and write high-quality study reports, analyses and policy briefings in the field of sustainability, particularly for projects in better regulation, policy evaluation and impact assessment.
• Continuously monitor of the EU policy framework in the area of sustainability.
• Proactively support business development to find and generate innovative market opportunities in sustainability for our government & public sector clients.
• Manage opportunities and the development of proposals.
• Conduct workshops, trainings and other capacity building activities for internal and external audiences.
• Support marketing and market eminence activities in the area of sustainability.
• Support further development of our sustainability team, including through active involvement in the recruitment process.
• Engage in internal initiatives bringing Deloitte towards "net zero”.
  
  

Let’s Talk About You

• Masters/postgraduate degree in Information Technology, (Applied) Economics, Commercial or Civil Engineering, Commercial Sciences, Management, Finance or Political Sciences. An additional masters/postgraduate degree is a plus.
• At least 7 years of work experience, of which at least 3 years in the field of sustainability.
• Possess proven experience in providing advisory services to public sector clients (experience within a reputable management consulting or engineering firm is an advantage).
• Fascinated by the public sector and relish industry trends and market dynamics.
• Good understanding of the EU institutions, the EU decision-making process and key EU policy areas (knowledge of impact assessment, policy evaluations and stakeholder management methodologies is a plus).
• Master key concepts and possess solid knowledge of policies in the field of sustainability and of the European Green Deal, such as EU climate action, "Fit for 55" legislative package, industrial (transition) policy, circular economy, "Eco" certification, energy transition, just transition, green cities and sustainable urban development, etc.
• Possess proven experience in management of complex projects.
• Ability to lead, coordinate and communicate in multidisciplinary teams.
• Pro-active, curious, open-minded, creative, enthusiastic, flexible, and a natural team player.
• Ability to form your own opinion and support it by objective argumentation.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills and fluency in English (spoken and written). Knowledge of Dutch, French and other official EU languages is an advantage.
