The Company

Our client, a major global fashion retailer, is currently seeking an

Outbound Operations Manager (m/w)

for their retail distribution centre in Ghlin. S/he will report directly to the Logistics DC Manager.

Responsibilities

· Lead all DC outbound departments to maximize the operational excellence, quality, efficiency and productivity for outbound ops, i.e. retail store allocation & replenishment, picking, incl. induction of relevant MHE (e.g. sorters), pick location storage and replenishment, packing, potential future outbound VAS, and shipping, transportation, cross DC/ -region moves and NCG

· Manage and ensure an efficient planning and optimization of the flow of garment across all outbound departments

· Manage the overall profitability based on cost effectiveness through accurate planning & budget follow-up and by using cost saving initiatives

· Lead the department teams to ensure logistic capacity needs in alignment with DC Mgr., where needed (based on forecast of regional flows & quantities; DC Manager to align with Regional Sales & Ops, if needed)

· Support Outbound Departments to resolve issues, and ensure close alignment with Controlling and Import/ Export, where relevant

· Lead and support the Department Managers. to recruit, develop and retain workforce for Outbound according to department needs and forecasted capacity requirements

· Lead execution of ABC slotting & optimization of pick locations

Profile

· Strong operational logistics expertise across Stores from picking though to delivery to store to effectively manage day-to-day execution, incl. NCG

· Proactivity in identifying upcoming bottlenecks, and close collaboration with Inbound Operations and DC Management

· Understanding of regional and global operational logistics and transportation standards, and service level promise

· Close collaboration with Inbound Operations and DC Management in managing capacity, performance, cost, and service level

· Proactive management of capacities required for NCG

· Proactivity in identifying improvement opportunities both within Outbound/ transportation as well as regarding the entire product flow in the DC

· Understanding of sustainability implications in transportation management

· Fluent in French & English
