We are looking for a Package Managers Mechanical to join our team dedicated to a very large construction project in Belgium (Mons area). In this role, you will act as client representative on a large and complex construction program where we are providing the full suite of professional services including technical project management, cost- & planning management and construction management.

Role description:

Preconstruction

• Work with OR team to create and establish the Master Project Schedule, based on the Critical Path and key milestones.
• Support Contractor pre-qualification, bid solicitation, bid analysis and recommendations.
• Support Contract negotiation, typically in concert with the Client’s PM, Commercial Team and Legal Counsel, including establishment of all “business terms” including mark-ups, fees, insurance, labour rates, escalation, etc.
• Coordinate Constructability review of project documents with the sub-contractors as appropriate.
• Coordinate the gathering of cost estimates from subs and other vendors for scope gaps/changes.
• Coordinate Value Engineering efforts during the design and procurement phase.
  
  

Construction

• Manage the directly contracted vendors on the ground.
• Manage Change Control, including change order review, negotiation, & recommendations, delay analysis.
• Assist to coordinate Value Engineering efforts during the construction phase.
• Liaise with the Client’s schedule management team to provide Schedule monitoring, tracking and analysis.
• Work with the Client and document control teams to track and coordinate addenda, bulletins, new drawing sets, clarifications, etc.
• Ensure QA/QC is being followed and report any issues/gaps to the appropriate supplier and QA/QC Manager.
• Tracking of all key project documents, including submittals, RFI’s, change orders, invoices and payments, lien releases, etc.
• Coordination and management of all Owner-direct vendors.
  
  

Close out / Fit Up

• Initiate close out process before project completion, typically two to three months in advance
• Establish close out documentation requirements with the document controller. Collect and track receipt of all close out documents until completion, including warranties, as-builts, O&M manuals, etc.
• Manage punch list, substantial completion and completion process with the Subs
• Work with the Client’s commercial and design teams to negotiate, resolve and close out any outstanding change orders, quality issues or disputes
• Assist the Client in scheduling, coordination and management of all Owner-direct vendors
  
  

Qualifications & Experience:

• You hold an engineering degree in electromechanics/mechanics.
• You have minimum 5 years of experience in complex construction projects e.g. data centers, hospitals, pharmaceutical plants, nuclear,…
• An intuitive knowledge and ability to quickly understand principles of construction, as well as contractor means and methods.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational skills.
• Ability to engage with the client and key stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Flexibility to changing requirements.
• Self-motivated, positive, measured, and resilient.
