PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT MANAGER

The position will be part of the Competence Center Materials (CCM) Europe department, reporting to the head of Operational Excellence CCM Europe.

The Performance Improvement Manager (PIM) will be one of the leaders of the Operational Excellence Program and has the goal to achieve a sustainable “best in class” margin performance in aggregates. The PIM will work with the regional management, CCM department and the staff in the quarries to identify improvement opportunities in our aggregate operations. He or she will support line managers to deliver performances and realize long term sustainable savings.

In addition, the PIM will assist in enhancing technical competence and operational excellence in the organization, in relation to quality control, production, sales and production planning, performance management and lead the Aggregates academy activities to upskills our staff.

The role is an excellence development position for someone who would like to broaden their experience across many sites. The position will assist the management team (MT) of Sagrex and be part of their regular meetings.

An overview of your daily tasks:

• You continue to develop a performance driven culture within the organization and support the continuous improvement mindset and process;
• You roll out the Operational Excellence Program and the implementation of the Aggregates Business model across Sagrex sites;
• You lead the Aggregates academy within the organization to upskills our employees;
• You support Aggregates sites with specific operational challenges and implementation of improvements ideas;
• You liaise with CCM experts to bring support on specific technical challenges and projects;
• You lead some initiatives of Sagrex 2025 vision, as part of the Group strategy.

The profile we are looking for:

• You are fluent in French and English, Dutch is a plus;
• You already have some experience with project management methodology (LEAN, ...);
• Self-motivated, you have the ability to plan and lead projects that require interfaces with multiple stakeholders and different levels of management;
• Ideally, you have 3 years experience in aggregates operations;
• You are highly organized and have excellent communication skills; Outcoming, you can easily speak out your mind;
• You have a strong desire to work alongside and support our line management with all aspects of Continuous Improvement;
• You are able to coach and motivate peers without direct lines of authority;
• You understand the operational, technical, commercial and financial aspects of the business and know how they relate to each other, including product costing and investment evaluations;
• You apply technical recommendations in a pragmatic, hands-on way to the actual operating environment;
• Engaged in change management, you think out of the box to identify best practices and transfer this knowledge across the organization;
• You are a leader who can work both autonomously and in teams;
• You have the willingness to travel internationally (20%).
