Job Description

This position works with suppliers to build lean supply chain capability in the areas of material replenishment to facilities, improved Sales and Operations Planning, high-velocity throughput, optimized logistics and capacity planning.

Incumbent leads efforts to verify and improve supplier capacity, quality and delivery performance for a facility. This position leads collaboration with suppliers and multiple facility functions to address and resolve supplier issues using root cause and corrective action (RCCA). This position integrates efforts with facility supply chain planning, site global purchasing, operations, receiving, Global Transportation, Demand and Orders, Material Requirements Planning and Logistics.

Incumbent ensures supplier interaction with facility packaging and transportation resources to optimize packaging, containerization, point of use presentation, barcode labeling, ASN compliance, enhanced communications related to quality improvements, and improving carrier selection and transportation container optimization.

This position will be responsible for developing packaging solutions at the supply base for strategic, innovative, complex, and network wide projects and processes. Lead a team of packaging engineers to solve packaging relative complex technical problems, work with cross board team to develop process and tools, as well as mentor, coach and share packaging design and process to global and regional team members. Follow global packaging processes and conduct packaging technology system to regional packaging groups. Report and upload data/information to enterprise packaging system. This position will also need to communicate to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units as they support global team to develop packaging documentation.

This role performs cost analysis on current packaging processes and recommend changes where appropriate

Background/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Packaging design, or mechanical design
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, organization and communication skills
  • Develop and deploy creative / original solutions to complex problems
  • Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Capable of working and communicating with a variety of clients and suppliers
  • Communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units
  • Provide technical guidance on needs analysis and initiate ideas
  • Lead research and develop new packaging technology and material
  • Certifications:
    • APICS,
    • Qualification as a CPS Support Team Leader,
    • CPS Functional Job Role Qualified
  • Affiliations:
    • Lean and 6 Sigma, Black Belt
    • Experience with the CPS RIW and Value Stream Transformation process
    • Manufacturing engineering, logistic Management, Supply Chain(Planning), IT
