This is a place where you can make a world of difference.Follow Us on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/donaldson/Introduction:Our Automotive Aftermarket team (mobile solutions) is looking for an Engineer to provide product engineering of a wide range of Hydraulic filter elements for new product developments and improvements on existing filtration units. The position is located in the EMEA Headquarters in Belgium (Leuven), but can also be performed from our plants in Italy (Ostiglia) or Poland (Skarbimierz) . This position will be reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, Amaury Cornelis.Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage new product releases from early opportunity assessment until production hand-over:
  • Design: create new design concepts with the design team. Assess the best will-fit solution from a cost, performance and IP perspective
  • Validation: coordinate the testing of the design concept and the materials selected to ensure performances in-line with the most stringent industry standards
  • Technical investigations: root-cause and countermeasure analysis on technical issues encountered during the development
  • Project management: follow-up of all development steps to ensure successful closure of all project milestone and a timely product release
  • Quality: compliance to the quality standards at all stages of the project
  • Coordinates continuous improvements activities on the existing product range
  • Benchmarking: performance assessment and design investigations on competitors’ products. Update and revise internal benchmarks accordingly.
  • Value Analysis / Value Engineering activities: coordination of design, material and production changes on the existing product range.
  • Quality concerns: technical investigations and problem solving on quality concerns in the field
  • Provides Technical support to sales, customers, and users in the field
Your profile:
  • Master degree in Mechanical Engineering - Automotive Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in engineering, product & project management in the automotive, construction vehicle or aviation industry is a strong asset.
  • Experience in hydraulics is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, solution oriented, and customer centric.
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate across all levels.
  • Knowledge of English is a must – any other language is an asset.
  • Ability to travel 5-10% (a few trips per year).
