PRODUCT ENGINEER - LEUVEN (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITION

We’re currently recruiting a Product Engineer for a company located in Leuven, who are specialized in the development of advanced electronics equipment which is used across sectors such as life sciences & industry.

Your main role will be to bridge the gap between research and development (R&D) teams and production, focusing on the seamless transition of electronic product designs into manufacturing.

As a Product Engineer specializing in electronics, you will be responsible for transforming new product concepts into effective production processes.

Your role will involve close collaboration with R&D to ensure that electronic designs are optimized for manufacturability and efficiency, ultimately enhancing product quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with R&D teams to understand electronic product designs, specifications, and requirements.
• Develop and implement production processes tailored to electronic components and systems, ensuring manufacturability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments specific to electronic designs, identifying potential manufacturing challenges.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for production processes, including work instructions, assembly guides, and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to new electronic product launches, providing timely solutions to minimize downtime.
• Work with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance and supply chain, to ensure smooth product rollouts and adherence to industry standards.
• Utilize scripting and programming skills (e.g., Python) to automate testing and production processes, enhancing operational efficiency.
• Monitor production metrics related to electronic products, identifying areas for continuous improvement and optimization.
• Provide technical support and training to production staff on new electronic product lines and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in product engineering with a focus on electronics, particularly in transitioning designs from R&D to production.
• Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing processes, including PCB design, assembly, and testing.
• Proficiency in scripting/programming languages, preferably Python or similar, for process automation and data analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
