Job Overview and Responsibilities

Platform engineers enable product groups’ effective value delivery over time through an industrialized, cost-effective platform. They spend much of their time automating the platform and its usage’ experience, so that teams using the platform can focus on added value activities.
Within workplace platform (delivering integrated solutions and services part of the IT working environment of the 30000+ end-users of the Group), the Productivity & Collaboration engineer will be responsible for the following activities and functions:
Develop and execute global strategy for Productivity & Collaboration Services (around all solutions Solvay is using as part of its IT workplace to facilitate productivity and collaboration of its 30000+ end-users, with Google Workplace in the center of them)
Design the infrastructures (on premise and cloud) to guarantee resiliency, performance and state of the art architecture aligned with group standards, Enterprise Architecture function, cyber security needs and regulation compliance.
Supervise the development & maintenance of Productivity & Collaboration solutions. This means :
Managing new developments and solutions using Agile mindset & methodologies (scrum,...)
Securing the solutions in sync with architect & cyber teams .
Deliver innovation thanks to technology watch and experimentation, in perspective of the evolution of the roadmaps of partners and vendors, especially Google.
Ensure security and compliance as per group standards.
Develop strategic relationship with partners and vendors, firstly with Google.

Education and Experience

Master’s degree or engineer school
5 to 10 years in Technology services

  • Full-stack knowledge and significant experience of Google Workplace solution including Meet video
  • Relevant experience in a global company and matrix organization
  • Experience in vendor management, project management and governance
  • Experience in design, agile methodologies and transformation
  • Track record in project management, including resources management, planning and delivery on commitments
  • Understanding and knowledge of Regulations, Standards and Frameworks
  • ITIL environment experience
