Position Overview
ISS is immediately seeking a Research Analyst for the Romanian market. You will analyze corporate governance and financial information and write research reports on publicly traded companies in Romanian as well as other Central and Eastern European countries, based on ISS’ voting guidelines.
The position will be based in Brussels.
Main Responsibilities:
- Analyze corporate governance and financial information to write detailed research reports on publicly traded companies
- Issue proxy vote recommendations for shareholder meetings
- Engage with companies and institutional investors on shareholder meetings
- Answer internal/external queries on research reports
- Contribute articles to regular ISS publications
- Assist with policy formulation
- Participate in various projects and development opportunities
- Develop market expertise in corporate governance, investment and shareholder issues
Qualifications:
- Good understanding of finance/capital markets and corporate governance, preferably with prior experience in corporate governance/investment analysis/research with a focus on the Romanian and other Central and Eastern European markets
- Relevant Masters’ degree, e.g. law, economics, finance, business or political science
- Fluency in English and Romanian is required
- Very strong oral and written communication skills
- Very strong analytical ability, with the ability to assimilate large quantities of information
- Excellent eye for detail
- Ability to work independently and take initiative while also working successfully in a team environment
- Organized and structured mind, with excellent time management skills: able to deal with large quantities of work and strict deadlines, particularly during the season of Romanian general meetings.
