Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.
  • This position is located at the ST-IC-WBWM99 650TH MILITARY GROUP. Duties include establish and maintain an effective and efficient personnel security program within the organization. Responsibilities Administer policies, practices and metrics which reflect the security posture of the Security Office. Serve as the commands expert and account manager on the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) or like systems. Assist with periodic reinvestigation, security clearance applications, and all other administrative matters pertaining to Personnel Security (PERSEC) for the command. Provide security support for one or more security programs (e.g. Information Security (INFOSEC), Industrial Security (INDUSEC) and Physical Security (PHYSEC). Assist personnel with in-processing and out-processing tasks pertaining to Personnel Security (PERSEC). Identify and/or resolve difficult and complex security problems; gains concurrence on non-routine and controversial security issues. Provide security expertise to the unit Security Education and Training Awareness (SETA) program, including the areas of physical, personnel, information, industrial and general security, Establish and maintain an effective and efficient personnel security program within the organization. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized Experience is defined as supporting, maintaining, or administering a Personnel Security (PERSEC) program such as independently review, analyze and resolve personnel security problems of varying complexity. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS/GG-09). Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series. OR Have successfully completed a Closely Related (CR) Ph.D or equivalent Degree. Closely Related constitutes a degree which has educated the student in pertinent, specific position-related subject matter allowing the student to develop knowledge and abilities directly applicable to the position being filled such as Security Management/Administrations or Criminal Justice. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
