Job description
For our restaurant in Brussels, we are currently looking for a Shift Leader to lead, alongside with the (Assistant) Restaurant Manager, all aspects of our business. It’s about inspiring and motivating your team to achieve amazing results and excellent customer service. You will ensure efficient restaurant operation, as well as high production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards. In this role you’ll need management skills and experience in both front and back of house. You’ll oversee the dining room, check-in with customers and balance seating capacity. We expect you to lead by example and uplift our staff during busy moments in our fast-paced environment. Ultimately, you will ensure our restaurant runs smoothly and customers have pleasant dining experiences.
The Avocado Show was founded in 2017, and - what’s in a name - creates pretty healthy food made with/from avocados. With over 150.000 followers on Instagram, and restaurants in the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and many more countries to come, we are well on our way to take over the world and share our pretty healthy food with everyone!
What will you be doing?
- You will be coordinating daily floor restaurant operations, mainly by organizing and supervising shifts.
- You implement The Avocado Show policies, protocols.
- You deliver superior food and beverage service and maximize customer satisfaction. If customer complaints occur, you respond accurately and efficiently.
- You provide restaurant staff with feedback to improve productivity and quality.
- You order goods and cleaning products when stock runs low.
- You ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations according to HACCP.
- You manage the restaurant’s good image and suggest ways to improve it.
- Together with the Restaurant Manager and Assistant Restaurant Manager you control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste.
- You train new and current employees on company standards and proper customer service practices.
What do you bring to the table?
- You are full of energy and have a positive attitude that is contagious.
- You have proven work experience in a similar role, or see this as a next step in your career. An educational background in hospitality management is a plus.
- You are flexible in working hours, which means you will also be working during evenings, weekends and holidays.
- You have extensive food and beverage knowledge, with the ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff.
- You are a strong communicator and team player, and have excellent motivational and people skills to take your shift team to the next level!
- You have an eye for details and are a perfectionist at heart.
- You thrive in a pleasant chaos and like to create order in stressful situations.
- You are able to communicate in English, all other languages are a plus!
- You LOVE this brand and have clear motivation to be a part of it.
