We are looking for a master student to work on a challenging project in the Formulations and Dispersions Discovery group (FDD) at Agfa. We are dedicated to the formulation of new colloidal systems, such as emulsions and dispersions, for use by the different business units of Agfa (Graphics, HealthCare and Specialty Products) in coating or ink applications. One of the main tasks of the FDD group is to screen various chemicals like pigments, dispersants, solvents, etc. on request of the business units. In order to increase the efficiency of the screening process, we are experimenting with a new screening technology. Not only efficiency but also being able to react faster, with limited resources, to the requests of our customers is an important drive for industry in general. In the 3 months that you will work in the FDD group, you will be assigned with developing the right procedure to screen faster and better.

You will experiment on the new device to find the right experimental settings for the different formulation classes. Next to performing experiments and doing analysis in the lab (70%), you will need to process the results and report back to the FDD team. Your work will be founded by literature search on different experimental parameters that in a next phase will be tested and evaluated.

We are looking for a motivated student who is eager to learn different lab techniques, colloid chemistry and experience over specific technologies.

Voor wie?

• Studenten uit het type hoger onderwijs (Bachelors, Masters,…) of studenten procesoperator.
• Je hebt een minimumleeftijd van 18j (ikv veiligheid op onze site)
• Je kan je vlot uitdrukken in Nederlands en Engels
• Je bent leergierig, gemotiveerd en hebt een can-do mentaliteit.
