For our office in Brussels, we are looking for a Strategic Buyer.

Responsibilities

As part of the indirect procurement team, you will be in charge of all purchasing activities for one or more indirect spend categories. Examples of those categories are HR services, facilities, maintenance, CAPEX, ICT or Marketing.

Your responsibilities include :

· Analyse mid and long-term views/market trends and develop know-how and strategies for your categories, build new supplier relationships and develop alternative sources or solutions, direct key initiatives with cross-functional teams, develop key sourcing activities, ensuring equipment and service availability to meet business goals while minimizing risk

· Manage your categories through category plans carried by your stakeholders and challenge colleague category managers in order to fulfil continuous improvement regarding category management within the procurement department to create the upmost value for the organization

· Manage the procurement projects within your categories from A to Z: kick-off with internal clients and stakeholders, RFI, elaborate specifications, challenge the technical specifications, RFQ or RFP, offer analysis and alignment, negotiate and sign strategic framework agreements

· Be the trusted advisor in strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives. You will work side-by-side with your stakeholders to deliver the most optimal purchases for SABCA

· Drive cost reduction and compliance in your categories, make clear recommendations for overall cost improvement and develop strategies to achieve quantifiable savings

· Guide commercial relationships with suppliers, with a principal objective of achieving optimal cost and performance

· Improve tools and processes to increase procurement overall efficiency

· Manage the contracts and the supplier performance for your categories

· Create transparency with regards to the needs and create visibility with regards to the spending behaviour

· Guarantee appropriate communication, reporting and cooperation with all stakeholders

Profile

· Bachelor’s degree (economics, business administration, finance or corresponding), or equivalent through professional experience

· At least 5 years professional experience in a multi business-unit procurement environment with proven competence in the management of strategic procurement projects in a similar category

· Track record in developing and negotiating national and international contracts

· Fluent in English. French and Dutch will be considered as a plus

· Excellent knowledge of MS/Office including ability to do your own data analysis based on data from multiple sources and presentations

· Previous experience with SAP will be considered a plus

· Good communication and presentation skills

· Ability to communicate professionally with colleagues in different business units and hierarchies

· Result oriented, analytical, precise, eager to take on new challenges, self-motivated, innovative, problem solving and negotiation skills
