System & Architecture Engineer

In the past years Schneider Electric has seen an increase in its product portfolio in relation to EDGE Control products and software solutions. Solutions such as Industrial PC hardware, the M262 PLC and the software to connect to our cloud platforms like EcoStruxure Machine Advisor and Aveva Insight. Machines become more and more connected, so expert technical knowledge is required in the field of data-communication, modem/gateway hardware and IT related software like VPN’s or operating systems including Linux and Windows. Also, in-depth knowledge is required of our EcoStruxure Apps & Analytics portfolio (Machine Advisor, Augmented Operator Advisor and Secure Connect Advisor). Besides this our HMI portfolio also has increased in such a way that we now can cover every visualization solution, from (web)HMI via Industrial PC’s to our Cloud Solutions.

To support our customers and salesforce well in above mentioned areas it is essential to add a SAE Apps, Analytics and EDGE control to the team that can manage the whole visualization aspect and data-communication. The SAE will operate in both countries of the BeNe cluster.

In this role the SAE will support the following key products and solutions:

• EcoStruxure Machine Advisor, -Augmented Operator Advisor, -Secure Connect Advisor.
• Proface and Harmony HMI screens.
• Harmony EdgeBox and our complete line-up of industrial PC’s.
• EcoStruxure Operator Terminal Software (Schneider Electric).
• Blue Terminal Software (ProFace).
• Data-communication trough IT networks, including routing and network segmentation.
• Configuring modem/gateway routers from brands like EWON, IXON, Teltonika…
• Windows and Linux operating systems in configuring software, creating routing tables and managing the setup of our industrial PC’s, including the creation of interfacing with PLC’s.
• IT communication to the cloud through protocols like HTML, JSON, XML.
• Configure data-communication solutions like OPC-UA and Node-Red.
• Setup VPN communication trough routers / gateways from customer to industrial locations.
• Setup Secure Connect Advisor setup.
• Understanding of internet security.
• Basic knowledge of SQL databases.
• Basic understanding of PLC programming.
• PLC hardware and industrial networks.

Qualifications

The candidate must comply or agree with the following profile:

• A higher education level (bachelor/master) in the field of electronics, internet technology or similar. Knowledge acquired through work experience will also be considered.
• You are up to speed with the latest developments and trends in the world of digital solutions.
• Willingness to travel to customers and Schneider Electric offices in both The Netherlands and Belgium (BeNe cluster).
• Have besides solid knowledge of the before-mentioned technologies a commercial, customer first attitude because the SAE is part of the Industry pre-sales team.
• You are well organized, a strong willingness to learn and have personal discipline.
• You are motivated to push on even when things do not go as planned.
• Likes to work in a team and you keep a positive attitude and professional approach also when it gets busy or difficult.
• You can work in an environment that changes quickly.
• You are fluently in Dutch and English and preferably you can speak the German or French languages.
• You are not afraid to stand for a group to give a specialist training or present a solution in front of a customer.
• You are willing to invest in a network comprised of technical peers and specialists in our local organization as well as international with our R&D centers.
