System Engineer

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:


Essential Qualifications/Experience:

· 3-4+ year of demonstrable support of complex TCPIIP based secure network infrastructure
· Good working knowledge In supporting enterprise level fiber optic and CAT 5 based infrastructure
· Strong experience in configuring and troubleshooting Network devices such as Cisco switch, Cisco router, Juniper NetScreenVPN, Allied Telesis switches
· VPN installation, maintenance and troubleshooting with IDS and multi-firewall technologies (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX)
· Experience in configuring and managing Linux, Unix, Microsoft operating systems
· Hands-on demonstrable experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical infrastructure and system problems
· Experience with managing and coordinating communication and troubleshooting efforts wîth third party I hardware vendors as described in service support contracts
· Previous employment with NATO environment


DUTIES/ROLE:

· Provide Network and firewall infrastructure solutions support and system administration on Cisco, Allied Telesis and Juniper network devices within a LAN and WAN infrastructure
· Configuration, management and troubleshooting of virtual private networks
· Provide support to the network intrusion detection systems I network intrusion prevention systems and remote access based on Juniper (NSM 2012.1 R6, lOP 200/400 and 800 series, 5GT series)
· Deployment, configuration and maintenance of Network appliances and associated management software
· Administration of Linux operating systems, in particular Red Hat Enterprise
· Analysis of Network Protocol with tools such as Wireshark and TCPDump
· Undertake complex tasks including the implementation of relevant processes and procedures to provide responsive information technology support services to meet NATO and specific NCIRC requirements
· Maintain and undertake system technical documentation appropriate for various audiences including technical staff, business managers, and end users on existing IT infrastructure
· Perform other duties as directed by his supervisor
