About The Role

For our Vaccines Distribution Center, we are looking for a Head of Operations, for 2 years-assignment

Your Responsibilities

Direction/Guidance (top-down):

• You standardize and establish, where necessary, rules, standards, processes, targets and guidances for Distribution Centers in Belgium
• You lead external and internal benchmarking for respective domains of expertise.
• You set mid/long term vision and strategy for respective domains of expertise to meet GSK targets;
• You identify, get approved and lead GIO change programs/projects that are consistent with mid/long term strategy;
• You provide prioritization of GIO change programs/projects for respective domains of expertise ;
• You monitor and escalate risks for the implementation of major GIO change programs;
• You assess and review global and local proposals for change projects;
• You collect and analyze KPIs for respective domains of expertise.
  

Support (Bottom-Up)

• You offer expertise, coordination and alternative solutions to global distribution centers ;
• You provide expertise support for troubleshooting and continuous improvement activity within GIO;
• You mentor and coach local experts to promote autonomy and compliance ;
• You ensure distribution centers invest in the most valuable projects and create economy of scale for their service offering
• You lead distribution programs
  

Strategy And Direction

• You act with colleagues on the Vaccines Distribution and Cold Chain leadership team to ensure the continuous supply of vaccines in line with GSK business objectives to meet customer needs in a timely, quality and cost effective manner;
• You ensure alignment, synchronization and communication of expertise needs and projects through the global distribution network;
• You ensure alignment with the vision, strategy, objectives and policies of GSK Vaccines ;
• You implement key business processes to achieve short and medium term objectives ;
• You ensure compliance with GSK Vaccines standards, policies and procedures, with international and local regulations ;
• You build and sustain a Quality Excellence mindset within distribution operations.
  

Quality

• You ensure that license to operate is maintained through compliance of distribution activities to Quality and Regulatory requirements.
  

Security – Anti-counterfeiting

• You ensure that access to strategic markets is maintained/facilitated through conformance of distribution activities to specific regulations such as Security and Anti-counterfeiting.
  

Health – Safety – Environment

• You ensure HSE mindset in all activities of function.
  

Change And Process Management

• You manage change initiatives involving products, processes, technologies and people which contribute to the overall effective improvement of GSK Vaccines distribution;
• You build and sustain a vaccine preparation, compliance, scheduling, security and warehousing expertise in the respective domain in leading strong central experts and influencing a global distribution network ;
• You share and integrate best practices within the GSK distribution network.
  

People Management And Development

• You train, coach, and engage team and Vaccines’ global distribution network towards the pursuit of operational excellence and conformance to all applicable rules/standards;
• You ensure development and retention of key talents within the organization;
• You ensure succession plan is in place for key roles to minimize operational risks.
  

Why you?

Basic Qualifications

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

• Master/University Degree in Sciences or Supply Chain Management/Distribution.
• Ideally, having gained 5 to 10 years of experience in Operations Management in an international or global context, within pharmaceutical or FMCG supply chain Industry.
• Experience in leading large teams (more than 30 people).
• Fluent French is a must
• Very good level of English (written & spoken)
• Problem solving in a complex and pressured environment
• Excellent presentation skills
• Ability to deal with ambiguity
• Strategic & Organizational agility
