Zurich Insurance is currently looking for a Junior Claims handler for Property & Marine Lines. Claims handling is one of the business processes that is critical to be able to ensure a high level of client service and satisfaction. Our claims team possesses a high level of expertise which is used daily to support our business and clients. Due to strong business growth, we are seeking for a junior claims handler to strengthen the team in Belgium.

Together with your colleagues you will build up your further expertise in Property & Marine Lines. You will work independent on property and marine claims and coordinate the whole process from A to Z. You’re a good and transparent communicator and you like to have a good negotiation meeting and discussion. You like and can mediate between several parties, trying to find the best solution for all involved.

Your responsibilities are:

  • Assess and determine claims, within the approval authorization frame, on insurance policies on Property & Marine Lines
  • Coordinate, follow up and process all administrative requirements regarding claims(s), work in a well-arranged manner on your files
  • Undertake effective investigation to enable accurate and prompt decision making
  • Set up and coordinate the process and assess the need for expertise (external)
  • You will effectively capture all new claim reports and other relevant information with accuracy and maximize opportunity for efficient information gathering
  • Effectively manage the claim journey and expectations whilst maximizing the utilization of our chain suppliers (brokers)
  • Fact find and analyse information to result in accurate decision making
  • Working and contributing towards an excellent team performance

Requirements/Profile

  • University degree in law or graduate studies
  • Fluent in Dutch and French and professional level in English
  • Motivated self-starter with 0-2 years of experience in Property & Marine Lines
  • Persuasive, strong and confident communicator
  • Attention to detail, analytical thinking and structured worker
  • Keen on developing a broader expertise in insurance
  • Capable to work both in team as independent
  • Ensure clear and transparent work overview to colleagues and team
  • Capable to take well informed, stringent and very knowledgeable decisions
  • Excellent admin and processing skills
