Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) is an American company, part of the Danaher group. Our European activities are based in Heverlee, Belgium. IDT’s core business is the production of short DNA strands called oligonucleotides, which can be used for various purposes like diagnostic tests for breast cancer or AIDS, research to discover new drugs and producing safer and more plentiful agricultural products.

Although being a young company, IDT managed to become market leader in oligonucleotide synthesis worldwide thanks to the fantastic team work of all its associates and the constant innovation of its products.

We are currently looking for a Junior Lab Technician to join the Main Production team during the early shift (7am-4pm). Joining this lab means that you have the opportunity to witness and be responsible for the birth of our DNA and RNA oligos, guide them through the entire production process and finally deliver an oligo of the highest quality of which you, the company and the customer can be proud of!

During a six month on the job training, we will guide you through the different production steps: from synthesis to purification (HPLC) and processing of the oligo (analyzing QC samples etc.). Each step requires other skills and therefore we give our lab technicians the chance to get involved in every phase by a weekly rotating schedule.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in science. Having an eye for detail and following procedures is crucial since you will be working under the ISO-9001 and ISO-13485 quality standard. Planning, efficient multitasking, respecting deadlines and most of all teamwork are very important assets for this job. Are you proficient in English and a punctual person? Are you eager to work in a growing company along with young and friendly colleagues? Then you might just be the candidate we are looking for.

  • Appropriately document all aspects of production.
  • Fill out all required checklists and perform verification for others.
  • Assist the shipping and customer service departments with specific oligo related questions.
  • Take finished product to the shipping department.
Job Qualifications
  • Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in a science related field or equivalent job experience.
  • Good digital literacy which includes knowledge of Internet, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to be on feet a few hours at a time.
  • Be open to changes in the process.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Phenomenal multi-tasking skills.
  • Interact in a professional manner with customers, associates and management.
  • Ability to work in a group or independently.
  • Read, write and speak English fluently. Knowledge of Dutch is helpful.
