Description of the function

Your mission

  • Create animation that tells a story with meaning through movement
  • Works closely with the Art Director and the team to conceptualize, storyboard, prototype and ultimately create high quality final game animations in a timely and efficient manner
  • Provides creative solutions to artistic and technical problems
  • Supports IT development by updating and modifying artwork to meet technical requirements
  • Create and animate unique emotive characters and immersive worlds
  • Communicate game direction through storyboards and animatics

Software skills

  • You’re very familiar with Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, 3D modeling/animation (Maya, 3DStudioMax, Cinema 4d, Houdini, Zbrush or equivalent)
  • Solid knowledge of Unity animation processes, including mecanim, and particle systems
  • Clear understanding of cameras, lighting, and shaders in Unity
  • Core design skills, including the effective use of color, form, lighting and composition
  • You’re just as comfortable working on a pc as you are on a Mac

Creativity

  • You have a knowledge of storyboarding and video production including but not limited to- particle generation, compositing, motion graphics and character animation.
  • You have a strong understanding of animation principles
  • Keen eye for detail and realism
  • You have an art background which shows a thorough understanding of physical motion, weight, balance, texture, and form.
  • You have a passion for design and are in tune with the latest trends and developments in that area
  • You’re able to translate a briefing to a stunning and efficient design suited to the team’s needs and expectations.
  • Experience with asset optimization for the efficient use of resources on web and mobile platforms
  • You have an understanding of usability and user experience and how to incorporate this into your designs
  • Despite of the creative storm in your head you can prioritize and work in a well-organized manner to reach your deadlines. Simply put, you get things done.

Your profile

  • A bachelor degree or equivalent through experience
  • A team player but also able to work independently with little supervision, reporting directly to the Head of Design.
  • Able to work under pressure on multiple assignments without losing your keen eye for detail
  • Result-oriented, proactive and flexible
  • Passionate about or interested in gaming is a plus.
  • Excellent level of French and knowledge of English (mandatory). Dutch is an asset.
