Capital Structuring & Advisory, ING Wholesale Banking in Brussels is looking for an analyst. This is a unique opportunity to join an enthusiastic and highly driven team involved in various complex financing projects for our corporate clients across all industry sectors and working in direct collaboration with many product areas of the Wholesale Bank. The CS&A platform is embedded in the Strategic Product division of WB and benefits from an international network of teams based in Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Madrid, New York, Paris and Singapore.

The CS&A team is a dynamic environment where you will be working on very challenging transactions providing your with visibility and exposure to a wide range of financial instruments and industry sectors. You will further develop your analytical skills as well as understanding of the financial and corporate world working on truly challenging projects in a very wide range of situations.

Key Responsibilities

As an analyst within Capital Structuring & Advisory, you will play a key role in the origination, structuring and execution of transformational complex financing (loans, bonds, equity) and hedging transactions; for blue-chip Belgian corporate clients. As a result, you work closely together with the members of your team in Brussels and other CS&A locations, the client relationship teams as well as various product specialists within ING. In this position, you will have a direct impact on strategic events of our clients, such as mergers and acquisitions, large (re)financings, strategic investment and transition plans, financial restructurings. You will be focused on client needs to deliver optimal and tailored solutions for each specific situation. This means that in all your activities you will strive to meet client needs in the best way and beyond. By nature, the job content is very diverse and requires an ability to adapt to each specific situation, but your main tasks will consist of:

• Preparing and analyzing complex financial models;
• Preparing presentations/pitch books for integrated debt, equity and risk mitigation solutions;
• Preparing industry, (implied) credit rating profile and peer group analysis;
• Assisting in making credit and financial analyses for credit applications;
• Assisting and analyzing due diligence information and reviewing transaction documentation;
• Preparing marketing and execution of (financing) transaction processes for key ING clients;
• Contributing to and supporting the execution of transaction (financing) processes;
• Developing creative solutions and enhance idea replication across ING Wholesale Banking on the basis of a multi-product approach
• Supporting clients with their investment and advisory needs to become more sustainable
• Actively supporting deal generation through continuous dialogue with (other) senior team members, relationship managers and originators within departments like ECM, DCM, Financial Markets, Corporate Finance, Corporate Investments, Sectors, Lending and sustainable Finance;

Your Profile

You are a person with a strong personal drive. You are proactive and you search for challenges and opportunities on your own initiative. You have a deep understanding of business economics, corporate strategy and financial/cash flow modelling and you have effective verbal and written communication skills. Therefore, you know how to ask the right questions and get the right information. You have a very strong sense for client needs and you describe yourself as a team player who is capable of collaborating in cross-functional (international) teams but can as well work autonomously when the task at hand requires it. You possess strong analytical and creative skills as well as the drive to deliver high quality results in a coherent and synthetic manner. You appreciate working under time pressure with a collaborative mindset.

Furthermore You

• have a least 1 master degree (above average academic grades)
• have ~1 year (analyst) relevant work experience (in a transaction-driven and corporate finance (lending, M&A, DCM, ….) environment);
• are fluent in English (verbal and written), Dutch and French.
