My client is looking for an experienced Android Engineer VTM GO & Streamz (Vilvoorde - Video)Job DescriptionReach more than 700,000 monthly active users on VTM GOMake your mark on the streaming landscape with StreamzDevelop the best for our streaming platform or our video widgets such as the video player, TV guide.Your challengeAs an Android developer, you are part of a cross-functional Scrum team (Squad) within the IT Video Area that builds new media applications (web/mobile/TV) or further optimizes existing software. Without going into detail, we can already tell you that together with your colleagues and in constant coordination with the necessary stakeholders, you will build the best possible tool for our readers, viewers, listeners and users. You read that right: we start with a basic concept, which is further shaped by your knowledge and expertise, stakeholder feedback and daily coordination (aka standup).How can you make a difference?Your focus is mainly on mobile app development, from start to release. You know everything there is to know about Android and Kotlin has no secrets for you. You also like to learn new things and follow technological developments closely. You always go for the best performance.Squad? Different profiles, one TEAM. Different projects, one goal, one mission! As a team you are responsible for the design, low-level architecture, build, QA testing and delivery of software. We live by the baseline: ’you build it, you run it’.Remember: what you do is not important, it is essential to our daily flow.Job Requirements
  • First and foremost: you are enthusiastic and eager to build innovative media applications together with the team.
  • Must-Have Knowledge: You have at least one mobile development experience, which means you can take Apps from concept to launch on the Google Play Store. Familiar with CI/CD for mobile. In short, you are a DIE HARD Android/Kotlin expert!
  • Nice-to-have knowledge: Familiar with native video, Performance Testing/Optimization and everything related to hybrid functionalities.
  • Experience with Clean Architecture is a plus.
  • The following concepts/tools are obvious to you: Test Driven Design, Git, JIRA, Confluence, CI/CD: You build it, you run it!
  • Curious and open-minded
