Application Developer

We currently have a vacancy for an Application Developerfluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Brussels, Belgium. The work will be carried out either in the company’s premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.

Your tasks:

• Development and maintenance of software applications (web and multi-tier);
• Development and integration of technological components;
• Make use of Commission technologies for application’s development;
• Analysis and implementation of user requirements;
• Prototyping;
• Database design and database integration with applications;
• Elaboration of test scenarios and programs, systematically testing and debugging new and/or existing applications;
• Integration with other applications;
• Writing of technical documentation;
• Assistance with deployment and configuration of the system;
• Participation in planning, review and technical meetings with the project teams;
• Providing on request training to the users.

Requirements

• University degree combined with at least 10 years of professional experience in the IT sector;
• Good knowledge of application development environments;
• Excellent knowledge of the design and development of web and multi-tier applications and continuous build / continuous integration experience;
• Good knowledge of modelling tools (e.g. UML);
• Excellent knowledge about responsive, multi-device development (e.g. desktop, laptop, tablet, smartphone);
• Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g. RUP, AGILE);
• Good knowledge of relational database systems;
• Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application developments;
• Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, ease of communication;
• Capability of integration in an international/multi-cultural environment and experience in working in team;
• Good knowledge of the following products/technologies is essential:
• SOA (web services, SOAP, REST);
• Java Enterprise Edition (Spring, MVC, EJB, JPA, JMS);
• IntelliJ, Git;
• WEB Technologies (JQuery, Java Script, Angular);
• Business process & database modelling tools;
• Relational databases (ORACLE, SQL, JDBC).
• Basic knowledge of EU policy on Justice and/or Consumers area;
• Knowledge about Justice and/or Consumers related public IT systems;
• Experience in working in a legal organisation or department will be a plus;
• Excellent command of the English language.
