Job summary

Based in our headquarters in Zaventem, your mission will be to take responsibility for the sales activities in the Middle East and North African market and offer Desmet Ballestra solutions in the field of oil processing, refining and modification.

Desmet Ballestra is the world leader in developing, engineering and supplying technologies, processing plants and proprietary equipment for the food, feed and chemical industries. The Oils, Fats & Oleochemicals division delivers tailor-made engineering and procurement services in preparation, extraction, processing, refining and fat modification for oilseed and edible oil processing plants. We master the processing of 40 raw materials, of which soybeans, palm oil, sunflower seed, rapeseed, groundnuts and cottonseed are probably the most popular.

Key accountabilities

  • Build, develop and prospect the Middle East and North African market in line with business targets.
  • Establish, maintain, and develop relationships with Middle Eastern and North African clients, agents, and consultant network.
  • Analyze technical and commercial specifications issued by the clients and coordinate internally to offer the right technical solution.
  • Build final proposals out of the different technical and commercial proposals and negotiate on terms and conditions.
  • Act as an intermediate link between clients and engineering teams.
  • Keep up your knowledge of the offered solutions, products and services and work closely with internal technical experts and standardizing team.
  • Grow turnover with respect to margin.

Required profile

  • Master’s degree in Engineering is a must (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial or Commercial)
  • At least two years’ experience in an industrial environment, preferably in the oils & fats industry
  • Good understanding of the Middle East and North African market and able to develop the business in your region
  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills
  • Self-driven, pro-active, and hands-on
  • Have an analytical approach and proven negotiation skills
  • Fluent knowledge of English and Arab is a must.French or any other language is an asset.
  • Ability to learn quickly and bring creative solutions to problems
  • Willingness to travel frequently (+/- 30%)
