Objectives:
Performing and controlling financial transactions within the hotel and reporting on those activities in a precise, accurate manner.(AR/AP/GC/Income Audit)
Assisting with various other accounting tasks.
Maintaining a constant information flow with the industry and Department Heads in order to remain up to date with the sector’s activity.
Performing within a tight legal frame and strictly according to the hotel’s procedures
Providing efficient, prompt, courteous, trouble-free and proactive service to customers and colleagues, hence maximizing guest satisfaction.
Performing all tasks according to departmental guidelines, the departmental business plan and the Radisson Hotel Group corporate guidelines and service concepts.

Responsibilities & acivities:
Performing and controlling financial transactions within the hotel and reporting on those activities in a precise, accurate manner.

Controlling and processing day-to-day financial data including but not limited to various postings, the accounting of transactions and correct data encoding.
Performing various administrative controls.
Controlling the payment methods including but not limited to cash, checks and back cards.
Verifying various accounting transactions including but not limited to cashier reports, bills, payments, reimbursements and reminders.

Assisting with various other accounting tasks

Assisting the Cluster Financial Controller with the end-of-month closing procedures.
Preparing all the required reports during closing periods.
Compiling reports as requested to enhance decision taking within the department and the hotel.
Assisting in the preparation of the monthly and yearly results.
Assisting with other departmental tasks including but not limited to ledger up-keeping, statistics gathering, file following-up, filing and document preparation.

Maintaining a constant information flow with the industry and Department Heads in order to remain up to date with the sector’s activity

Maintaining self up to date on news, procedures and legislation affecting the department.
Developing and maintaining good working relationships with people occupying similar positions in the area and worldwide to facilitate collaboration and exchange of ideas.

Performing within a tight legal frame and strictly according to the hotel’s procedures

Ensures all applicable laws related to general accounting and tax regulation are followed in all the activities performed.
Respecting all established deadlines for activities and financial reporting.

Providing efficient, prompt, courteous, trouble-free and proactive service to customers and colleagues, hence maximizing guest satisfaction

Handling guest and colleagues requests in a quick, efficient and professional manner.
Handling written and oral guest problems and complaints, including but not limited to information transmitted by the Customer Service Center and CST, telephone conversations and letters.
Increasing customer satisfaction by efficiently communicating specific customer requests to the appropriate department.

Performing all tasks according to departmental guidelines, the departmental business plan and the Radisson corporate guidelines and service concepts

Performing all tasks according to departmental guidelines and procedures.
Taking responsibility for keys and electronic access cards entrusted by the Department Head.
Handling and recording “Lost and Found” items according to the procedure put in place by the hotel’s housekeeping department.
Maintaining working areas, materials and company equipments clean, tidy and in good shape.
Ensuring tools and equipment made available by the hotel are used in accordance with their user manual and they are in perfect working order at all times.
Knowing, understanding and being able to apply the hotel’s fire, emergency and bomb-threat procedures.
Ensuring all potential and real hazards are reported and reduced immediately.
Following all applicable laws and regulations in regards to health, safety and guest and employee security.
Knowing and being able to act in accordance with the Radisson BLU Service concepts within the department, including but not limited to “Yes I Can!”, “Making it Right” and “100% Guest Satisfaction”.
Performing according to the highest standards in terms of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct.
Keeping informed on hotel standards of operation and departmental procedures.
Attending meetings as required by the Department Head.
Attending training sessions as required by the Department Head.
Keeping the highest level of confidentiality on staff, business and guest information.
Keeping the highest level of confidentiality on sensitive information seen or heard.
Attending meetings as required by the Department Head or the Human Resources department.
Expressing opinions and making recommendations when observing an opportunity to improve service standards, reduce costs or increase revenues.
Informing the Security Manager or Manager on Duty of any abnormal situations observed or reported by staff members or guests.

Ensuring all activities are performed in ways that are consistent with the Responsible Business principles of operation.

Following the department’s recycling procedures on a departmental level according to the procedures established by The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group.
Showing involvement and being interested in environmental and/or social issues by participating in Responsible Business activities on a hotel and departmental scale

Skills: In addition to technical competencies, following skills are important:

Previous experience required
Technical and practical skills in financial accounting
Staff development skills
Good abilities for file management
Skills in forecasting, budgeting and analysis of variances
Communication, Languages (ENG, NL, FR)

Software: Pack Office, Opera, SAP
