Thales Belgium SA, Belgium competence center of Thales, is a company located on 2 sites, one in Tubize (near Brussels) and the other one in Herstal (near Liège). Thales Belgium, which employs more than 280 collaborators, is specialized in the design, development and supply of critical information systems for customers in the sectors of Defense, Security (including Cyber) and Aerospace.

For our office in Tubize, we are currently recruiting a

Cybersecurity Engineer

Main responsibilities:

• Integrated in the CyberSecurity team of the InfoSec department, the candidate will ensure cyber is adequately integrated in our products line
• Elaborate cybersecurity test plan to ensure cyber is covered from top to bottom with the required level of robustness (pentesting)
• Is the point of contact with the Product Design Authority and the solutions engineering manager
• Specify prototypes and proofs of concept of security/crypto components;
• Participate to the bids regarding the security aspects as an expert;
• Have up-to-date vision regarding security of embedded systems;
• Perform survey over technologies such as IA, Quantum computing, NIS security advices (or other security administration)
• Ensure cybersecurity requirements are integrated in the product design
• Perform security evaluation of requirements/designs as internal auditor
• Participate to the security evaluation of embedded systems
• Participate to risk analysis for the cyber security domain with a sharp eye on functional design
• Provide trainings on cybersecurity aspects (e.g., best practices for secure coding, practical attacks against security components, …);
• Survey of security standards and ensure cybersecurity team referential is updated following state of the art standards
  
  

Profile:

Education

• Master/PhD Degree in Computer/Electrical/Telecommunication Engineering or Computer Science;
• Very good command of English.
  
  

Knowledge and background

• Mastering Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation (CC)
• Mastering risk management methodology (IE: ISO31000 or equivalent)
• At least 5 years of industrial experience in information security-related field
• strong background in software and OS security
• clear understanding of most common SW/OS-related vulnerabilities
• ability to give advices on designs and architectures
• Strong knowledge of algorithmic (cryptography)
• Proven experience of network administration, and hardware security matters
• Knowledge of security-related aspects related to product development
• Knowledge in two of the following areas: applied cryptography, vulnerability assessments
• Keen with software development processes related to security systems
