For our Global Digital Transformation Department in Dendermonde, we are looking for aData Engineer.

What will you do for us as a Data Engineer?

We are seeking a motivated Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in connecting to industrial assets, designing IoT applications, logging data in Microsoft Azure, and supporting the business in data visualization using Databricks and PowerBI.

This role is crucial for optimizing our manufacturing processes and driving insights from our operational data.

• IoT Integration: Develop and implement strategies for connecting to and collecting data from industrial assets and IoT devices.
• Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain data pipelines to efficiently collect, process, and store data in Microsoft Azure.
• Data Management: Ensure data integrity, security, and availability across the data lifecycle.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and business intelligence, to understand data requirements and deliver data solutions.
• Visualization: Support the business in creating and maintaining dashboards and reports in Databricks and PowerBI to provide actionable insights.
• Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize data infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data processes, systems, and workflows.

What will you bring to PSS?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong experience with IoT technologies and connecting to industrial assets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Azure, including Azure IoT Hub and Azure Storage.
• Experience with Databricks and PowerBI for data analysis and visualization.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and Scala.
• Familiarity with big data technologies and frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
• Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
