For the Gas Flow Operations department at our headquarters in Brussels (near the train station and subway, see the map here) we’re looking for a Dispatching Officer (m/f/x).

The Fluxys Belgium control room in Brussels is the company’s nerve centre, comparable to the control tower of an airport. This is where our engineers control and direct all gas flows on the Fluxys grid, 24 hours a day.

Your
responsibilities

• After an intensive training period combining both theory and practice, you will join a dynamic team responsible for coordinating and managing gas transport and transmission throughout Belgium
• From our control room:
  • You will control and monitor our facilities (compressor stations, LNG terminal, underground storage, etc.) as well as our 4,000 km of pipelines
  • You will coordinate connections to our grid, taking into account technical constraints, contractual obligations and security requirements
• You will process gas transport requests from our international customersand optimise flows through our grid
• As a true lynchpin of the department, you will be in permanent contact with many internal and external partners
• In the event of an incident, you will playa first-line role by supporting the relevant work in the field and monitoring the development of the situation in real time. You will also take into account safety and environmental standards
• Within Fluxys, you will participate in projects aimed at:
  • continuously increasing the quality of our operations
  • supporting Fluxys in achieving its energy transition and digitalisation goals

you

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A master’s degree in a technical field, preferably industrial or civil engineering
• Curiosityand motivation to develop yourselfas well as excellent communication skillsand a genuine team spirit
• Very goodlearning skills and an ability to integrate easily and smoothly into a responsive and demanding environment
• An ability to work under stress, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and make decisions quickly
• A good command of at least two of the three necessary languages (French, Dutch and English) and an ability to reach a similar level in the third language within a few months (courses will be provided for this purpose)
