The mission of the merchandising manager is to run the e-shop assortment in line with customer behavior and in addition with a profitable growth. The merchandise manager has two main objectives: increase sales and increase margin linked to product sales.
Relationship management with filières. You build and maintain internal relationships with regards to E-Commerce to have an optimal cooperation on specific product categories. As merchandising manager, you represent ecommerce in filières and communicate efficiency targets and tactics.
Category strategy. Based upon the habits of types of customers (new, recurring, families or students for example), prepare with the Filière a relevant category strategy on the e-shop with turnover & margin as main objectives. You will base this strategy on facts and figures on customer behavior such as analysis on average item value, margin, rotation, etc. You coordinate the implementation of the category strategy within ecommerce department and oversee certain projects.
Commercial activation. Prepare commercial activation campaigns on product level to boost sales and turnover in categories. Analyze the overall commercial strategy and develop new commercial initiatives to boost product sales, also including supplier driven actions and coordinate the implementation of the initiatives with filière and suppliers.
Analyze category performance. Analyze the category performance and present insights to drive decision makers.
Knowledge management. Build knowledge on trends, by self-learning and by attending relevant conferences as well as gaining knowledge on industry performance on category level and o customer buying habits. You share your learnings with the e-commerce team to improve efficacy.
Profil
- Master¿s degree in business, applied economics or equivalent through experience
- Experience in e-shop management or category management and in stakeholder management
- Fluent in Dutch, French and English
- End-to-end thinking and mindset
- Abiliy to translate concepts and strategies into concrete action plans
