The Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Trento invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the research group led by Dr. Davide Noè Gorini and Prof. Marco Broccardo. The successful candidate will contribute to the MultiPhysics Analysis, Design, and Assessment of Energy Infrastructural Networks, with a focus on the numerical and analytical modeling of geothermal energy structures for innovative urban energy solutions.

Requirements

  • PhD in Geotechnical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related disciplines
  • Expertise in numerical modeling, programming, and AI-based methodologies
  • Experience with multi-physics simulations
  • Familiarity with tools such as ABAQUS, COMSOL Multiphysics, MATLAB/Simulink
  • Advanced English proficiency and strong collaborative skills
  • Experience with probabilistic methods, reliability, and uncertainty quantification is considered an asset

The selected candidate will engage in the development of advanced multi-physics models, data-driven analysis, machine learning applications, and the formulation and solution of optimization problems within a multidisciplinary team.
