For our client, we are looking for a Finance Country Leader (m/f/x).

Our client is an industrial and international company located in Virton.

You are responsible for building up and leading the Accounting and Reporting FSSC (Finance Shared Service Center of Excellence) in Belgium. You assure the future quality of our accounting in the coming FSSC Belgium, implement and observe best practices and procedures and leverage AX as the single ERP Platform with time planning following the sequence of the ERP roll out.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervise the FSSC including the accounting and reporting in Virton
  • First point of contact / support level for the Finance teams in Belgium
  • Belgium face to the Company Finance Organisation in Europe and Global
  • Own and show responsibility for your financial statements
  • Hands on mentality, understanding of resource limitations and need to support on all levels, fill in where needed
  • Lead and develop the accounting team and its members
  • Organization development, accounting footprint simplification
  • Standardization, automation and best practice implementation (including SOX, audit and policy compliance)
  • Be a part of and lead projects, understand and drive change management
  • SOX processes are incorporated in the daily work.
  • Be familiar with US GAAP, general tax matters and statutory questions
  • Work close together with functional Controllers (commercial, operational SCM etc.)
  • Work close together with other Country Leaders in Europe
  • Act as trusted business partner to stakeholders including local management teams

For this role, your skills are:

  • You have a Business School, Accounting or Management education
  • Strong background and several years of practical experience in Accounting and/or Controlling, preferably in larger companies and/or group reporting;
  • Experienced in Excel and complex ERP Systems such as MS AX 365, Navision, etc.
  • Fluent command of English Language and excellent communication skills
  • Leadership skills, able to drive change management and lead the transformation described above.
  • Used to work with standards for consistent accounting processes
  • Feel the responsibility to plan, implement and follow up activities according to company targets
  • Independent, efficient and responsive
  • Good knowledge of priority setting and high degree of flexibility
  • Curious and willing to understand all business functions to gain a comprehensive view
  • Adopt and be open to changing requirements and priorities
