Hardware Engineer - Leuven (Belgium) - Permanent Position

For an opportunity located in Leuven, we’re currently recruiting a talented Hardware Engineer to join a cross-functional Research & Development Department comprising electronics, software, firmware and mechanical design engineers.

You’ll contribute to the design and development of microelectronics components used across the semiconductor industry, taking a key role from the beginning until the end of projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in initial requirements definition discussions to ascertain a strong understanding of the needs of the end customer relating to the project scope
  • Oversee electronics design processes throughout the entire project lifecycle, including both PCB design and layout, verification, industrialization through to production
  • Work with senior engineers & managers to help in the definition of long-term product architecture as well as technical planning phases
  • Where required, work alongside external stakeholders such as suppliers and contractors to maintain strong professional relationships while ensuring effective selection of the highest quality resources

Requirements:

  • Bachelors/Masters Degree in a related field (i.e. Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering etc.)
  • At least a first experience working in a similar capacity
  • Strong knowledge of software packages related to electronics design (i.e. Altium, Eagle etc.)
  • Previous experience of testing and/or debugging of electronics products
  • Knowledge relating to embedded engineering and a basic affinity in associated software languages is preferred (i.e. C/C++, Python etc.)
  • Excellent communicator and able to work effectively with varied stakeholders, both in technical and non-technical capacities
  • Fluent English speaker
