Are a member of the Belgium Industrial Operations Leadership Team you will ensure the continuous supply of vaccines in line with GSK business objectives to meet customer needs. You will be responsible to achieve safety, quality, supply and cost performance targets for Secondary Activities. You will manage & develop Secondary activities in Belgium as part of the vaccines network of GSK and be responsible for the leadership and operational management of 3 Manufacturing Production Units (1300 employees).
Key Responsibilities:
- As a member of the Belgium Industrial Operations Leadership Team, bring method, structure, and innovation to establish the Belgium site as a high performing, cost effective, safe, and reliable manufacturing organization.
- Participate to the definition and execution of the overall strategy in alignment with GSK long term objectives
- Ensure business continuity and product life cycle management of more than 30 different vaccines distributed Worldwide including Regulatory Compliance
- Manage the performance of 3 Manufacturing Production Units: efficiently manage resources and assets, drive continuous improvement, drive cost efficiency initiatives, and ensure business continuity
- Be an EHS role model ensuring all people working in your department remain safe at all time. In collaboration with the EHS Team, ensure all risks related to activities are assessed, necessary preventive measures are implemented, and employees have the necessary skills to perform in a safe environment.
- Manage the sustainability performance of the Secondary Operations aligned with GSK targets.
- Lead and drive Secondary leadership team, develop capabilities and skills to drive operational excellence in EHS, Quality, Supply and Costs
- Create an inclusive and diverse environment where everyone can thrive
- Build and develop the talent pipeline
- Be a business representative in several governances in order to establish and maintain a constructive dialogue and stable social climate
- Masters degree in Engineering, Sciences, Biotechnology or equivalent
- Advanced knowledge in manufacturing and business administration, as well as a good understanding of the industry overall thanks to experience in leadership role
- Advanced understanding of Bio/Pharmaceutical processes and technology: biologicals development, production, QA and QC processes
- Good understanding of the industry trends and competition pattern in order to anticipate threats and maintain profitability
- Proven ability to define and execute strategies at large scale
- Good knowledge of operational excellence: green belt certified is an asset
- Good knowledge of regulations in EHS/Quality (cGMPs)
- Excellent people management and leadership & communication skills
- Good financial management skills
- Good risk management skills
- Change management experience an asset
- Fluency in French (mandatory) & English - both written and spoken
- PhD or MBA
- Business Acumen - understands implications of decisions from a broad business perspective and uses this knowledge to influence decision-making at the highest levels of R&D and with external partners.
- Proven ability to drive process improvement in a matrix environment and with demonstrated leadership in the application of innovative approaches with portfolio-level impact.
- A strong sense of initiative, urgency, drive, pragmatism, and judgement – an ability to make things happen.
- Ability to deliver to demanding deadlines whilst maintaining the highest quality.
